Nylon lock nut includes a nylon insert to resist vibration and shock. This insert is located in the end section of the nut and works by deforming over the threads of the bolt when tightened, thereby preventing the nut from loosening under vibrations or torque.

What is there to say? This is a great set of lock nuts. It contains 7 different sizes in metric from small to large to handle whatever project I have around the house. They are stainless steel and wont rust. The case is nice to have to keep everything organized and label. I've only used 4 of these so far but they worked just like any other lock nut I've used. They tightened well and really grabbed the bolt tightly (locking). It's a great kit to have around the house.

I was constructing a table and faced a problem - the included M6 nut (right, in attached photo) was thin, and my 6 point socket would barely grip the nut - really, really thin. So I obtained this set to get the thicker/taller nuts, and to my surprise, they also include lock nuts, great for preventing a nut from easily loosening. The set of Locknuts and Hex nuts was a lifesaver.The hex nuts are beefy and torque down well. After a day or so, I thought about it, and swapped for the locknuts, and was also pleased at how well they tightened right up. A trip to the hardware store in oppressive heat and a hfty per-piece price for hex nuts, or wait for an Amazon driver to deliver this bargain set? I’m always busy with random DIY projects and spend a lot of time in my garage when I’m home.. because of this, I really like to keep a variety of hardware around so I have what I need when I need it! I also always have a need for metric hardware due to the fact that all 5 of my motorcycles use the metric..Anyways, when I received my item, I was super impressed with the quantity as well as the overall quality of this assortment nut kit! It also comes in a nice little plastic case that has everything organized/labeled making it super easy to find what you need. I’ve tested out a couple of the nuts just to make sure the threads were good and so far, I haven’t had any issues. All-in-all, for the price point, this is a very nice nut assortment kit to have on hand in the shop! I would definitely recommend this hardware kit to others, especially if you tend use metric hardware on a regular basis.

As an avid hobbyist and DIYer, the only thing I like better than having the right tool to do the job is the right hardware to use the tool on. So I like having a stock of nuts and bolts to use the tools on. This assortment of M3 through M12 nylon locking nuts fits the bill and exceeded my expectations. I added plenty of pictures to this review, please take a look.The supplier did a fantastic job packaging the nuts, as they shrink wrapped the container and added a top sheet of packing material above the bins to prevent the nuts from spilling over into the adjacent bin (see the picture). Labeling is 100% accurate. The container dividers are removable and configurable, which is typical of most hardware assortments.These nuts are slightly magnetic with a neodymium magnet, so the claim of 304 stainless is likely accurate. I tested several of the nuts using metric screws that I had on hand and the nylon grip works perfectly as you see in the pictures.Now one last thing. Comparing this to the current Amazon Best Seller, I would choose this product instead of the best seller. You get 30 more pieces and the supplier didn't just give you 30 more of the smallest nut. They generously gave additional M4, M5, M6, M8, and M10. Very nicely done!

In this world where everything seems to be made in a foreign country most of the gadgets in my house use Metric nuts and bolts. So, when I saw this small kit of replacement Metric nuts I decided to order it for my tool kit.From my own hands on experiences this kit includes the most common Metric sizes I've encountered. This includes M3, M4, M5, M6, M8 and M10.This kit provides a choice of a simple replacement nut or, for critical applications, an upgraded Lock nut. In most situations, when I have a problem with a nut and bolt, its because the nut is loose or in the worst case the nut has totally fallen off. With this set you can use a simple replacement nut or an upgraded Lock nut. Lock nuts work the same as a standard nut but provide some added insurance against loosening.The lock nuts are also useful in applications where you don't want to tighten two pieces tightly together. For example when you want to be able to move two of metal in a scissor-like movement. Or when you want a wheel or metal disc to be able to rotate. You can leave the nut partially tight to allow free rotation while keeping the wheel in line without any wobbles. For me lock nuts are also preferred for bicycle repairs where bolt/nuts are frequently loosened by road vibrations.And, this kit allows me to complete most simple repairs or upgrades when a Metric nut is needed without needing to run to the store.This is a nice, small kit of Metric nuts that comes in handy around the home. It has a good selection of sizes and includes the hard to find lock nut variety. The price is very reasonable especially when you consider how much small quantities of these metric nuts can cost in hardware store. And of course there is the convenience factor of having them in your tool kit saving trips to the store. If you do even a small number of repairs around the home, I would recommend looking at this kit. This is a time and money saver.
