Nylon lock nut includes a nylon insert to resist vibration and shock. This insert is located in the end section of the nut and works by deforming over the threads of the bolt when tightened, thereby preventing the nut from loosening under vibrations or torque.

Overall: If you just want some black colored locknuts, don't care about scratch resistance, and don't need graded hardware, these are pretty decent.Side note: The box I received states 304 Stainless Steel+Threads onto my #8-32 hardware without any issues+Nylon does its job and holds on tighter than I can unscrew by hand+Stainless, they're mildly magnetic which implies to me that they're some grade of stainless+Price, for black locknuts the price is pretty good.+Tolerances. Testing random samples from the batch I received, the tolerance is less than ±1 thou.-Black coating scratches very easily. just tightening with a ratchet scratches the top parts of the nut-They're completely unmarked (unknown grade or manufacturer)

These are in-spec, which is the best compliment I can give commodity hardware. The finish is nice, and it comes in a better case than average, where most hardware I buy comes in baggies. The price is right, you get a lot for what you pay for. I can't complain.

The product packaging is labeled 304 stainless steel. Tested with a magnet, these are only slightly attracted which is consistent with many types of stainless. The advertisement says both black zinc plated and stainless. These are very typical looking nylon locking nuts. I would be challenged to think of something I like or dislike about these other than the color. I expect everyone would be satisfied by this purchase.

As usual, from this brand, I received top notch quality hardware. I am impressed with the precision with which these are made and at a decent price. If you can find comparable hardware at your local big box, in black zinc, you will pay way more than what these cost. As far as their craftsmanship and quality, they are definitely superior. These are 1/2" course thread nuts. They come in a handy clear plastic case. They fit 1/2" -13 bolts perfectly, and a 3/4" wrench securely. Nice black painted finish that didn't scratch from wrench. Nylon lock holds well, but allows easy removal. Quality appears to be same as hardware store, but in difficult to find black.

These nuts are true to size and easy to install. They easily slid onto 1/4-20 bolts with no issues - there were no burrs on any of the threads of the nuts I tested. The finish is silky smooth and has a nice "hand" to it.The lock nuts come in a plastic case. My only complaint with this set is that I found it difficult to unlatch the lock for the container, but it's not a big issue because I'm dumping the nuts into my own drawer organizer.
