I was replacing this switch on a pedestal fan. Opened the housing and took the attached picture. Then proceeded to do a web search for "pullchain switch for pedestal fan" or something similar. The first match I saw was for a company whose name starts with "G" and rhymes with "RANGER" (not sure if Amazon will allow using the company name on this review) and the switch was OVER $30.00. Went back to my search results and found a link to Amazon, where I found the EXACT part for $7.00 AND one-day delivery thru Prime.The choice was a no-brainer. Because of the accessibility of the housing and not being a ceiling fan, it took me like two minutes to replace. I can't tell you how long it will take you for your particular fan, but if the wires are tinned (coated with solder), it's a breeze to remove the wires from your old fan and slide into the new one. Make sure when you do that the wires kind of snap into place. You should hear the contact click. Then pull on the wire to make sure it won't come out. Once you do that, it should be ready to reassemble your fan.
