It does reach down inside jar, but it’s not a clean cut. It’s seams as if they are dull. Not impressed. Would not purchase again.

So I am candle obsessed, I can admit it now. I typically only use scissors in the past to cut my wicks but they would always come out slanted and burn until even. The Yankee Candle Store would always ask if I wanted to buy the wick trimmer and I would always pass because I felt like it was a necessity I didn't need. But now that I have it I love it and can't imagine just using regular scissors. So if you use candles as much as I do I would suggest getting one of these, definitely worth it.

FINALLY splurged and bought a wick trimmer, after years of struggling with scissors. This one is branded Yankee Candle so bought it based on the quality of YC's candles and accessories. So far it gets the job done. There's a little slot to position the wick in and the blade catches the trimmed piece. Occasionally it's not quite sharp enough to cut the wick in one clean clip (if the wick is fat and waxy), but it works. It is MUCH easier to use that a pair of scissors (especially for jar candles that have burned down deep).

I just recently started getting into burning candles , you never realize the importance of a candle wick cutter until you have one , this one cuts through new and used wicks and you don't have to worry about cutting it too short or not enough it is pre measured for you, although it's not as long as the one sold at yankee candle it is a perfect size for me. Yankee candle sells them for 9.99 at least in my area , they are well worth the money. This is a must have in my house. Also I know lighters can be a little on the pricey side ($5.00) at the target in my area, in the dollar section they sell them for a dollar.

I bought this trimmer directly from Yankee Candle's website. It doesn't trim the wick down to the recommended 1/8th of an inch because the cutting blades are too thick. The blades are also very dull, so you end up with a shredded wick that eventually turns into a matted-down pulp when the candle is about half gone. This help me learn that a smashed & shredded wick creates just as much soot as a wick that's too long.

The Yankee Candle wick trimmer works so well! It was shipped promptly and packed well. The trimmers are great for cutting wicks, yet they are not sharp to the touch. Very nice.

Great wick trimmers. I'm glad I bought them here and not at Yankee Candle. This price is so much more resonable.

It works, just not very sharp. Good enough to do the job I needed it to do. Scissors do just as well, but at least with these I avoid getting soot on my scissors.
