This purchase was a nice surprise. After 20 years my old West Bend slow cooker quit. This new one has a lot of features and accessories, even a carry bag. Thanks for an awesome deal. I am happy. It might be still going after another 20 years

Got this for a friend. She had one before that she lost during a move. She loved it. Said it was great and discovered it to be more versatile than her previous one.

Directions are a tad confusing but the product itself is very nice.

My 2 (yes, i loved them) 30 yr old west bend slow cookers both gave up recently. After reading the reviews about the new ones with coating coming off and not as good as the old ones, I took a chance on this one. Love, love, love it. I have already browned 6 lbs of sausage, made potato soup, black eyed peas, and kraut and weiners in it over the last 10 days. It's 6 qts instead of 5. Has accessories like a griddle, so I won't be cooking on the heating part. And no Teflon coating to peel off. Cleaning is a breeze. It heats to 400 so you can brown, saute and then slow cook in the same pot. With all the accessories and versatility it gives my inst a pot some real competition. If you are looking to replace you old reliable west bend slow cooker, this is the upgrade you need. It is more expensive, but it's worth it. Its digital so expect to spend a few mins checking out all the buttons.Cons: It has a fan, so it's not silent. The cord does not detach.

I purchased the West Bend Versatility Plus Slow Cooker with high hopes, but unfortunately, it has not lived up to expectations. I’ve used it twice now to slow-cook pot roasts, and both times the results were disappointing. After 10 hours of cooking on the low setting, the vegetables were still crunchy, and the meat was tough and chewy—completely opposite of what a slow cooker is supposed to deliver. I followed the same recipe I’ve successfully used with other slow cookers, so I’m confident the issue lies with this unit.Perhaps I received a bad apple, the lid doesn't fit well and heat can escape from all four corners. After cleaning the vessel, I put a flashlight inside and placed the lid on top. Pictures show where light comes through. I don't know how this could pass through quality control. While the design is sleek and the additional features are appealing, the primary function of a slow cooker is to cook food thoroughly and tenderize meats, which this product has failed to do. I regret this purchase and cannot recommend it to others seeking a reliable slow cooker.

I bought this to replace the last West Bend slow cooker I had the inside of the pot flaked off so badly even after buying 3 other ones that were just as bad, when I read that the coating on this one had changed and had good reviews both my husband and myself though we would give it a try, the first night I used it on the top of the stove then put it in the oven and everything was just great but tonight when I used it on the base I couldn't get any setting that I could adjust the temp. and time together you have choices of some to adjust the temp and then only use the setting for 30 min or 1 hour some settings you can't set the temp yourself but you can set the time you want, I was making my own spaghetti sauce and wanted to simmer on about medium for a couple hours so I tried the stew setting but you couldn't adjust the temp yourself but I was able to adjust the time so I kept checking on it and at first it was fine but then the next time I checked it it was almost burnt because I couldn't turn the temp down, and the whole time the base was turned on a fan ran it was so annoying I have never had a slow cooker that has had a fan running and the add on line doesn't say there is a fan, I will not buy another West Bend product again, I have wasted so much money trying to get another cooker like what they sold many years ago but it wore out and the rest have been garbage since, the pot seems to be good now but you need a basic base with it that you can set the temp you want and turn it on and off when you want

This is a very versatile appliance, lots of cooking options. It is small but perfect for one or two people. I’ve been using it every day for the past 7-8 days. The more I use it the more options I discover. The grill, griddle and 6 qt cooking vessels are light weight but seem to be sturdy. The non stick (so far) is fantastic. I only use wooden or silicone utensils in this unit. I have used the grill plate and the griddle plate numerous times and it cooks everything nicely and does not stick. I’ve used the larger 6qt vessel to make spaghetti sauce and chicken soup on the slow cooker option, excellent! I’ve also used the griddle pan on the slow cooker option to make a small piece of pork that I cooked in cream of mushroom soup, chose the slow cook option on low and it cooked the pork perfectly! It takes about 5-7 minutes to pre-heat, has pre set options but you can also adjust the time and temperature. It heats to 400 degrees. It’s very easy to use.The only negative I have is I wish it would cook hotter than 400 degrees. I feel like it takes a little longer to cook some things but this is a minor issue.Overall, this is one of the best versatile kitchen appliances I’ve used in quite some time. I highly recommend this, especially for a smaller household or someone looking for an appliance that does multiple things with a small footprint. I haven’t had it long enough to comment on the longevity of this appliance but since it’s a West Bend and seems to be built so well I’m not expecting any issues with that.

Had one of the original West Bend slow cookers for over 20 years.... simple to use ... just turn the dial. Have tried multiple times to get the temp settings to work. Thought I had it correct last night but alas after 6 hrs of cooking food was only warm at High setting. Dumped into old cooker and in 3 hrs was smoking hot... cooked properly. The idea of multiple use appliances just doesn't work well. Telfon has worn off on old cooker and now forced to buy another one of these or go to Crock type which is heavier. with only 30 day warranty not sure if I want to chance another one that has so many bad reviews.
