Fabulous! Excellent for a messy kitty. I've been using this mat for about a year now, and I'm back again to buy two more for my other litterboxes as well. Any litter that lands on the mat is trapped neatly, and pouring it back into the litterbox after scooping is easy-peasy. The mat itself is soft to stand on, and definitely helps lessen the feeling of walking on loose litter that gets out of the box.I've found out that cleaning it is a breeze: I can give it a quick wipe-down with a bleach wipe, or take it outside and scrub it with soap and water without a problem. Just make sure you prop it open so that it can dry fully (but I haven't found any problem with mold or scent after using water on the foam, it dries fully after about 8 hours).Even the seams at the edges of the mat seem to be water-resistant, and it's safe to scrub underneath them without worrying about water damage.I only wish I could order it in an even bigger size, since my cats are very... enthusiastic about covering their poop, and tend to kick it halfway across the bathroom floor.

Mat does trap some litter. Does not trap all litter and cats still track it around the house. I believe you need to find a cat litter product that reduces/eliminates litter on the feet of the cat and combine that with these mats. I have not had any issue with cats peeing on the mats or chewing on them. They are not bothered by the mats at all.I would look to find a good litter if you want to reduce tracking thru the house. This mat does not seem to be the answer by itself.I did have a problem with the delivery of this product. A neighbor must have taken it from my porch or had it delivered to their house - we are side by side. Trying to contact Amazon and instruct them how to deliver the product is next to impossible. You can track the package but can't provide any instructions on where to leave it.

While I don't believe any litter mat is really going to be fail-proof, this one comes close. I have tried a number of mats, and this is by far the best. The litter doesn't just sit on top, but it actually catches it inside. It can be a bit awkward emptying it, but once you get the hang of it, it's fine. I have very little litter around the box now, and no longer have a trail of litter from the box as the cats walk away. I would definitely recommend it! My only complaint (which is not the product's fault as it wasn't designed for this), is when my cat had an accident with #2, and some spilled over onto an area of the mat. Because it wasn't completely solid, it got into the mat's holes, and was not fun cleaning. If you're sick of litter messes, get this rather than the more expensive brands!!

So first, and I don't know what I was thinking, I bought a mesh mat (with wires intertwining throughout the mat with the idea that the litter will fall through it- it doesn't). After being tired of vacuuming twice a day because there was litter all over the bathroom and then mopping the floors every other day, I went back to Amazon and bought this product. And let me tell you, this should've been the only one I should've bought. The tracking is barely there because this thing catches most of it right away. For anyone that hates litter everywhere, like me, this is an amazing product. I definitely recommend for a cleaner home.

This mat works very well for catching litter, so I would give it 5 stars on that front. However, I give it 4 stars because it is not leak-proof. One of our cats decided that this mat is a great place to pee, after several months of being unbothered by the mat (this is not the product's fault, just our dumb cat). The pee on the mat wouldn't have been so bad, except for the fact that the pee leaked through the bottom of the mat and down to the floor below it, and somehow spread out in the process. So, instead of dealing with a small pee puddle, it became a much larger, and grosser cleaning endeavor. Because the bottom of the mat is slightly foamy, it seems to have absorbed some of the pee, and getting rid of the odor has been impossible. We actually bought another one of these mats to replace the first peed-upon one (we foolishly thought it was a one-time occurrence), and the same leaking sadly happened again. I am quite bummed about it, because it was really nice to not have to constantly sweep up litter.Bottom line: great at catching litter, but maybe put down a trash bag or tarp below the mat, since pee will leak through it.

I have a another one that is a different kind and isn't divided in the middle - I like that one better as it is easy to clean and seems to catch the litter better. This one is ok, but I find it awkward to clean - I use a handheld vacuum or try to shake the litter into a barrel, or back into the box.

I purchased this mat to replace an existing mat. The size is a true XL. The holes in the top of the mat allow the litter to fall through. It's easy enough to vacuum or shake it out to clean it. One of my cats was at first hesitant to step on the mat due to the different feel. The other cat had no issues and walked right onto it and into his litterbox. It does a good job of catching the litter, but it doesn't get all the litter off of their paws. They still track small amounts of litter on the floor. I don't think there's a mat that completely cleans the paws as I have tried several different styles and brands.All in all, it's a good size mat and collects what litter it can while the cats are on it.
