"Live Plants" are not what these are. As several reviewers have written, these plants looked like garbage when they first arrived--decomposed with no roots or viable bulbs, no green color--just slimy rot. The second they were delivered to my door I hopefully put them in the pond. It's been 2+ weeks and it's time to clean them out of the pond. What a waste of money. Either have a better way of shipping them (in coolers with dirt & some water to protect any roots they may have)--or send seeds with directions on how to grow them. Sending potted plants is better--why send these mushy nothings? Some reviewers wrote about unwelcome travelers (snails, leeches, bugs, etc.) which I will keep an eye out for. This is unacceptable, and no refunds.

We ordered 12, they were great and came fast, so we ordered 12 more. These next 12 were terrible, mostly dead, also much smaller than the first batch, but still came pretty fast. We complained to Amazon and the vendor. They promptly issued a return ticket and shipped 12 more per our request. The third 12 came fast and are beutiful. I suspect shipping damage, like they overheated in the truck somewhere en-route. The above would rate a 5 in my book: I took off a point as the root structure is a bit too small so they tend to tip over in a breeze. But that is changing fast.

Past experience with other sellers has been reasonable, although the plants then sent were rather small and looked like they had been in the mail system. Not so with this seller, I couldn't be more pleased. Not only did they arrive quickly, they were packaged very well and wrapped in damp paper to keep the roots moist. When I unrolled the paper, I realized how outstanding these plants were. All the leaves were a nice healthy green and the roots were not a tangled mess like I had experienced before. I'm not sure how to count the number of plants because several of them still had new plants attached to the parent plant. The new plants were also quite healthy with good roots of their own. If I had wanted to divide them up, I'm sure that I would have ended up with more than 12 plants. Instead I left the small ones attached so that they could break off when they were ready.I've put the plants in a separate container for a while just in case there were any unwanted "guests". Inspecting the plants though, I saw no evidence of any stowaway snails or other creatures.I would not hesitate to recommend this seller to anyone and will most definitely be using them again in the future.

Started to turn brown and many leaves have died and rotted. Have not multiplied or flowered as ad says. I bought 2 orders of 12 plants because they looked so good when arrived. Probably won't make it through the summer. They get lots of sunshine. I have two ponds and I moved all the mature fish to the bigger pond. Some folks say the fish will eat the roots, which I also tried by covering the roots in netting. The only fish left in that pond are a few very young Koi Fry (only a few weeks old) that don't go near the hyacinths. I even tried putting up floating plastic rings surrounding the plants but that didn't help. I tried moving them to another pond without fish but that didn't help. Although bright all day, that pond wasn't in direct sun all day.But trying all these scenarios, nothing has worked so all this money for two shipments was thrown down the drain.

These water Hyacinths are simply gorgeous!I had been having a hard time finding quality pond plants here in Pennsylvania, with local pond stores selling sad, small, barely thriving excuses for plants. So I ordered these from John's Pond Plants, not knowing what to expect, but I was beyond thrilled when my plants arrived! My first thought was, "Wow! I didn't know these were supposed to even look like this!", compared to the same type of plants I had purchased locally in the past. The plants arrived well packaged with no visible wear and tear from they're shipping journey. They were clean, with amazing root structure, and just big, beautiful, healthy and green! My fish LOVE hiding and playing in the roots, and my pond looks great now!My only regret is that I didn't find John's Pond Plants earlier in the season to beautify my pond. Now Fall is sneaking upon us, but I cannot wait until next Spring to load up again from this great seller! I even bragged to all of my neighbors with ponds, so they're all in the loop for next pond season too :) I also had GREAT communication and conversation with the sellers when I had some questions. Absolutely recommend!
