The Wasabi VBG260 battery is a replacement product for the Panasonic VW-VBG260 battery pack. Both batteries have the same nominal voltage: 7.2 V. Capacity of the Panasonic battery is rated as "at least" 2500 mAh, while the Wasabi claims to have 3000 mAh.I charged both batteries with the standard Panasonic charger, installed them in a camcorder and recorded the same scene with the same settings. The particular camcorder model is not important because I was interested in relative differences in performance.I monitored several aspects of batteries' performance, like:* Declared remaining recording time* Actual recording time* Low battery warning message* Automatic camcorder shut-off* Integrity of recorded clips after automatic shut-offAt any time during recording a good battery should display remaining time consistent with actual recording time, give or take several minutes.First went the original Panasonic battery. It worked 249 minutes in my camcorder. The display time never deviated from actual recording time for more than two minutes. As expected, one minute before the battery depleted completely, a low battery message appeared. When the battery was almost fully depleted, the camcorder stopped recording and then turned off. Video file on the memory card was properly closed and did not suffer any dropouts. All in all, great performance from the original Panasonic battery. The Wasabi battery claims to have 20% higher capacity than the Panasonic battery. When recording started, the Wasabi battery displayed the recording time similar to the Panasonic battery - 240 minutes. Within five minutes this estimation has been increased to 265 minutes, which translates to about 12% higher capacity of the Wasabi battery compared to the Panasonic battery. The Wasabi battery kept with its promise for three and a half hours, and I almost believed in "premium cells from Japan" that this battery claims to use, but at about 230 minute point the displayed remaining time - 47 minutes - started to drop with the rate increased compared to actual recording time. In ten minutes the battery lowered its estimation 20 minutes down, and in another 15 minutes it died. Because of accelerated rate of discharge, the camcorder did not show message that recording was stopped, and I thought that the whole 4-hour clip had been lost. To my surprise, when I turned the camcorder again with a fresh battery, the video clip was there, undamaged. Both batteries lasted about the same time, but the OEM Panasonic battery was more predictable. The Wasabi battery shows realistic remaining recording time for the first three and a half hours, then it loses charge fast. It makes you think that it is superior to the original Panasonic battery, and if you do not discharge your batteries fully, you will never know. Considering its low price, it can be used with caution. Turn the camcorder off when the battery displays 20 minutes remaining time to avoid damaging the video being recorded.

Okay what did I do wrong? This battery would not fit my TM900. I bought two, spent a good while trying to fit to camera and gave up and sent them back. The notches on the battery are different than the stock one as well. Am I missing something or are these other reviews from the vendor? Seriously! Thank goodness for Amazon's easy return policy.

The first battery I bought powered the camera fine out of the box. When I charged it with the correct Wasabi charger, however, the connection pins on the battery bent out of shape. The battery would no longer make contact with the camera to power it. I returned the first battery for a replacement, and this second battery is working fine after three charges. The battery powers my TM700 for 3 hours for a great price! The only bad taste in my mouth is that I had to pay for 1-day shipping in order to get my replacement battery by the day on which I needed it. Good thing I'm a Prime member!

For the price and for the amount of hours through one complete charge is worth the $30. For my camcorder it could be used for a good 2 hrs and a half. That is alot of juice coming from this. Yes it does stick out a bit, and does add a little more weight. Its not heavy like a rock and adding a little extra weight doesn't make a difference to me. Maybe for others, but, I don't find this a problem.Panasonic's standard battery cost (the cheapest I found) $25. So buying this was a no brainer. It holds the charge for my camcorder, an hour and 10 minutes longer than the standard battery. So for me, I would invest in one more when I do more travelling down the line. It beats have 4 standard batteries to carry along then just having 2 of these.Another benefit that I liked is you don't have to buy adapters like some other brands that I saw, won't mention which ones... Which actually holds a 3 hour charge (from what people claimed) and with the accessories that you have to pay for that specific one, it cost more than just buying two of these. Try it for yourself and see. Just make sure its compatible with your camcorder.

This battery works with the , that is, it fits, battery life is displayed on the camcorder, and you can charge it with the camcorder charger. Although, the battery wobbles a bit when attached to the camcorder. (just like the original panny battery)My only gripe is with the packaging. Battery was shipped in a cheap bubblewrap envelope, and the corner/edge of the battery had torn through the packaging. While the battery arrived working, I have to wonder if the rough treatment reduced the life of the battery.

Bought one of these batteries in mid-Sept and it was great but didn't know if it would last. After 7 weeks of using this battery at least twice per week for concert videos, I'm convinced that it truly is a fantastic bargain and ordered a second one today. Here's what you probably want to know:---Am using this with a Panasonic HDC-HS700 camcorder.---Fully charged it shows 3 hours of recording time and I get all of that if not more.---My "recording time left" meter works accurately with this battery.---It hasn't diminished in charging capacity after about 15 charges.---Works with the charger than came with my camcorder.---Extra weight is not noticeable, the sticking out an extra inch in the back isn't a problem.---I've found that having a 3 hour battery is much more practical than having to make a switch when using two 90-minute batteries. All in all, I've found absolutely nothing negative about this battery. Not saying it is better than the official Panasonic version, but it seems to be as good and the price savings can't be beat.
