I was really excited about getting this, as since I moved into my house and ran my ethernet I have just had a giant bundle of wires coming down through the ceiling in my garage into my racks patch panel. My hopes were that this would clean things up which it has!I mounted it to the rear of my rack so I can keep all the electronics on the front, and manage the cabling in the back with this. It's made of solid metal, and came with all the hardware I needed to mount it to my standard rack which went exactly as expected, it fit perfectly in it's 1U space. It is also completely metal, I expected some parts to be plastic but not a single piece is. The rear cap is held on by pressure from the fingers, but it also has two tabs on each side to "lock" it into place when it is aligned properly. I appreciate that, so even if I have longer cables stuffed into the piece everything stays in place as it should.I know my use-case is slightly unusual with it mounted in the back, so before installation I checked the alignment of the teeth with my standard spaced 24 port patch panel on the front of my rack, and it lined up perfectly - so I would expect anybody intending to use it for it's front mounted use-case to be thrilled with the product as well.

I've been thinking about getting a few of these and they make planning my rack drastically easier.Build quality is solid, it feels like 18 gauge steel and should be able to handle a bundle of CAT cables without any issues. The inside edges are a little bit rough and definably could have been deburred better, but I don't think it'll be an issue for most cables.Mounting this organizer with the included M6 hardware, it fits my 20U rack perfectly. I did notice that the organizer section is noticeably narrower than my patch panel by a whole keystone on each side. The front cover isn't the easiest to take off but it's simple enough. Personally I've found that pushing down on the middle 2 large slots/teeth/fingers with my thumbs while pushing up on the cover from below is the easiest way to get it off and back on.

I'm putting together a server rack and trying to keep a clean appearance with it. This 1U rack piece will aid in that endeavor.Though the images in the description show it being used on the front of a rack, and my 12U Tecmojo rack will not support that. In my rack, I've got about 2" clearance between the front of the rack section and the front door. This cable organizer requires 3" of clearance. Frankly, I'd intended to use it for routing internal cables so it's not a big deal for me but be sure you have the clearance for your needs. The organizer is solid metal and the front plate pops off entirely, so there's no need to worry about trying to squeeze a connector through. The cables will stay in place without sliding out, while still providing re-configuration as needed.I'm still designing my layout so I don't have it installed into my rack yet but I've made a dry fit of everything and it fits just as expected in the rack, aside from the larger clearance than expected as previously mentioned.
