This adapter is based on a very old Realtek chipset (8832BU). While that in itself is not bad, this adapter just does not connect to 6GHz WiFi at all (gogole GR6E AP). It does connect to 5Ghz, but only yields about 450Mb, the same computer wired get upwards of 950Mb.WiFi 6 does not mean 6 GHz. and the seller does not explicitly state that the device supports 6 GHz connection. In order to connect at 6GHz, an adapter like Techkey AX3010 is needed. I went ahead and purchased one of those and compared the throughput. Results are attached.At 5 GHz, the Techkey performs better for a lower price.There are no updated drivers you can download from Realtek or Windows Update ( the system is Running Windows 11 Pro). If you have multiple USB NIC that you use on different laptop/desktop, then each time you switch the NIC you have to re-install drivers - really annoying and inconvenient.The build quality and appearance are very good, but for the two reasons above, this only gets 3 stars, as it functions OK.

Decided to try to find a good WIFI adapter to replace a 4 year old adapter and came across this NEWFAST adapter. The user manual is very detailed and followed the installation instructions. I did uninstall the previous adapter's driver prior to installing. Installation was easy using a USB 3 port and I was immediately impressed with the performance increase. I checked the NEWFAST website and downloaded the latest driver. I am very impressed with this adapter, particularly at this price point. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade to WIFI 6 speeds.

I have been using a 600 Mbps USB wifi adapter that functions OK. It was little slow, but reliable. I purchased the AX1800 as a replacement and it's very easy to set up and use. The speed difference is pretty great. After installing my wifi speeds increased to 400mbps absolutely amazing! Simple to install and it does work. Happy with the purchase and performance of this little guy!

I bought a very cheap Windows 11 laptop - it had an internal network card. Built as a USB 2 unit. Best download speeds I could get was 245mbps right next to a new Nighthawk Wifi 6 router. In the living room straight down the hall almost in line of sight I could only get 150 mbps which went as low as 50 mpbs occasionally. This unit fixed all that! Now getting 465 to 485 in the living room. Haven't checked next to the router yet no need. If you suspect that your download speeds should be better - try this unit. I did use a USB 3 port for maximum effectiveness.
