This is an amazing staple remover! Wish I had bought it years ago! It would have saved wear and tear on my hands.

I was recovering some boat seats, so I pulled over 3000 staples. About halfway through the job, I had to keep reshaping the part of the tool that you slide under the staple since it would bend when lifting the staple out of the plastic backing used on the boat seats. Maybe its because the plastic had more grip than wood does, not really sure, but was disappointed in the tool performance.

This tool is great and definitely better than no tool but I wish the tip was thinner,I find it hard to get under really tight staples - there’s a fine line between quality that won’t break and functionality and this tool is slightly too thick so I don’t think it’s cheap and will break any time soon but it can be frustrating. I still use a small flathead screwdriver fur hard to pull staples but this tool is still great

This staple puller worked best for me by wiggling it firmly under a staple while periodically levering the handle down. Once a "hold" on the staple is felt, it is removed by a final push down on the handle to effect an upward pull on the staple. Sometimes the staple will pull right out. For stubborn or longer staples, I found that one leg of the staple will often pull free first, and then I exerted a sideways twisting motion to the tool to sort of "grab" the stubborn leg and lever it out sideways. There might be a slight tendency for the probe (or "business") end of the tool to bending under extended use, but it hasn't yet interfered with my use yet.

This thing is useless. I bought it used it twice and the metal tip that is suppose to be used to pull Staples snapped off. It failed to remove a single staple. Not even one! This is only useful as a paper weight or to throw at someone you don't like. If you are buying it for it's intended purpose save your money. The metal is cheap and is no match to your staple gun. I doubt it could even pull a staple from cardboard. Complete and utter trash.

At first use I found it to be pretty useless. But I had hundreds of tight staples to remove so I persevered. You may find you have to pry the staples up to start them the use this tool.A bit of a learning curve and you’ll find it to be very good.

I recently removed all the carpet in our house and had to pull every. single. staple. (hundreds) out the the subfloor, and I don't know where I would have been without this little tool. It is, hands down, the BEST money I spent during that project. It pops out those staples like they are nothing, and also keeps them from flying directly at your face (though definitely wear safety glasses). I wanted to buy a second one for my husband to use but we couldn't find it at our local home improvement stores - they only carried a basic chisel-like version that was much less effective. If you are doing any project that involves pulling carpet staples, do yourself a favor and buy a couple of these.

Seriously? How can anyone give this "tool" any positive feedback? What a piece of junk. I chose this one because I could have it in two days with Prime shipping and keep moving on my upholstery project. Had been using my usual screwdriver and pliers combo and was excited to try this tool. It was a struggle to get the thick tip started under a staple, and the tip bent easily both forward and back with the pressure of the very first staple. Once bent, the clasping mechanism failed to grasp the staples at all. Tried using it on multiple staples on several different sections of my chair and it did not successfully remove a single staple. Very disappointed. What a waste of time and money!

OMG, this tool made a previously painful process--removing large furniture staples holding the fabric on the seat of my dining room chairs--so fast and easy! The upholsterer gave me a deep discount on recovering the seats if I removed the old fabric as that was the most time-consuming part of the job for him. I attempted to do it using ordinary tools and it was taking forEVER plus frustratibg me no end, so i looked on Amazon for a staple remover. I chose this one from the description of its use, it came within 2 days and the rest was like magic. It has a sort of lever on it so when the point gets under the staple, you push down and the staple pops up.

For the last several months I have been trying to remove carpet staples from a hardwood floor. I've tried all the recommendations: pliers, diagonal cutters, screwdriver, etc. None of those worked. I came across this on accident on Amazon and figured out was at least worth a shot for the low price. Honestly I was starting to believe I was going to have to play someone to remove the staples but this little guy took care of the problem. I was able to remove all but a few heavily rusted staples from the hardwood. It also worked great when an armrest on my office chair ripped open and I had to remove the padding to replace it. Bonus.

I am not a construction professional, I do light upholstery work. I was removing staples holding fabric onto wood and they were deeply embedded. They had clearly been inserted with a power tool. This tool seemed to do better than the two-pronged claw tool at removing them because I could use vertical force to really dig down to get underneath the staple. Pulling staples is never fun, and if they are embedded then no tool will be able to slide underneath them. They will have to be dug out with a tip thin enough to slide underneath the staple but strong enough to dig in and lift the staple. This tool seemed to strike the best balance and was most effective after some practice. The silver-colour plating came off of the tip pretty quickly, revealing the brass underneath and making it a bit thinner and better able to slip underneath the staples, so not a bad thing. This tool also stopped my hand from skidding across the staple if it slipped off, unlike the screwdriver I initially tried which led to lots of nicks in my hands. This was definitely safer. The handle end of the tool did start to give me a blister on my hand after using it a while, so I would recommend gloves for large, difficult jobs. Maybe the handle could be a bit longer and there could be finger stops and the front end of the grip. It didn't damage the fabric or the surface as much as the other tool.I was pulling wire upholstery staples and this tool seemed very sturdy for the job. I could only imagine it bending if it were used for very large, toothed staples that were put in with a power tool. Overall, it was a sturdy, well-made tool that should last through future upholstery projects.
