The straps are not actually leather. They are soft and thin. They certainly won't last very long.

It's the first time I've worn tree spikes. These are pole spikes (you can not buy inexpensive tree spikes, fore a reason). I mamaged to climb the tree... But it was extremely hard to climb down, they were bent out of shape and couldn't get a good bite. Unbelievably dangerous!
