These pass the '5 foot test' but not the '1 foot test.' That is to say you can't tell they're not real from five feet away but you can definitely tell as you get closer. The plastic 'leaves' tend to be too shiny versus the real thing.I have owned more realistic looking artificial plants but those tend to cost a fair bit more. These at about $50 each aren't exactly cheap but I can see how they aren't easy to make, requiring lots of hand assembly.I like that they didn't skimp on the bases, which are nicely weighted and solid feeling. I'm using them inside so am experimenting with nicer pots. I wasn't keen that the 'ground cover' seemed to be the stuff you find in children's Easter baskets but it's easily replaced. They arrive a bit unnatural looking since they're squeezed into a box that gives them a squared off look. They didn't just 'fall out' naturally so some manipulation is required to get them to look right. One of the leaves fell off during this but there are hundreds of these so not surprising. The size measurements listed are accurate. I can't comment on how they'd hold up outside in the elements, like most things plastic I suspect they'd do well for awhile before going to pot.
