A very good buy of a toaster model that is not easily available in Canada. The price is right, it is useful and we love it.

I was looking for a long-slot toaster because I frequently toast baguettes and rye bread. In fact I did purchase the $100+ Breville toaster before but was very unhappy with the layout of controls. This toaster (TFal) appears to have been thought through. All the controls are at the short side (which to me is the front because I do not have three feet of empty countertop to enjoy looking at the long side), they are large, and clearly visible. The operation is simple, the toasting is predictable and easily adjustable. I gave it only four stars for two reasons: (1) the only colour available was black and I would not mind something less "dressed up" and more cheerful in the morning, and (2) part of the toaster's quality depends on its longevity and I cannot yet say anything about that. My previous TFal was in use for 10+ years. Let's hope that this one lasts that long. After all it did cost nearly twice as much... :)

I absolutely love this toaster. So much so, that when the first one we ordered didn't work right... I asked for a replacement and not my money back. The second one I received works absolutely perfectly. It's a gorgeous appliance... shiny and sleek... modern looking...high end look. It's longer (duh) than a regular toaster, but not any wider. It looks great sitting out on the counter along the wall. I honestly hid the other toaster under the counter in a cabinet. I don't feel the need to "hide" this one... maybe in a few weeks when the Honeymoon phase is gone. This thing truly has the right amount of room for bagels and toast... and goes very fast. You'll have to watch that and get used to the speed with which this appliance toasts. If you have several people eating toast or having toasted sandwiches, this is going to be the best appliance for you. I'm not kidding when I say it goes fast. The electronics are not rocket science. The instructions are clear... I love the "stop" button... That's great when you feel panic... get a look at your toast and decide whether to continue or not. I haven't tried any other feature (got to read up on that defrost feature), but look forward to getting the most use out of this toaster. I think this toaster is a great buy. My best purchase of an appliance in quite a while. Recommend you get it if you like toast, bagels... toasted sandwiches.... I am returning the first one today that wouldn't work right...I was provided a label right away, and they sent out a replacement so fast it made my head spin!! Stuff happens, Amazon/Seller were perfectly attentive. Wish I'd seen these earlier, great Christmas present to some families I know. Definitely keeping in mind for my next wedding, hostess gift, or any excuse really. Imagine being proud to have given the "toaster".... UpDate... still loving this toaster.. great for buns when making hotdogs.... does a great job. on everything and comes in so handy when you have two boys (grandkids) eating you out of house and home... Everyone who's visited has asked where did you get that toaster.... And, a wedding if finally coming up and I'm going to get my gift in early... and one of the things is going to be this toaster! Update: Six months later.. still working great and now everyone I know has one and we all love them, especially for hot dog buns... four at a time...

When our old long slot toaster was starting to die, I began to look for a replacement. I checked many sites online and found this toaster on Amazon. I read with great interest the reviews "best toaster ever" "worst toaster ever" does a good job, burns all the bread regardless of setting "annoying beep when it finishes"After deciding to take a chance and after looking over all the choices some costing close to $100 I decided on this T-Fal model.Why all the worry, this toaster works fine. Great results, we go thru a lot of bread daily at our house and so far this toaster does a great job. After all it's a toaster! This is not rocket science.Put the bread in (and let me warn you some of the toasters only have a single slot in the long toaster category, this one has two) setting is on 3 and presto changeo toast.The beep is a good indication that the toast is done especially if you are away from the toaster doing other things. It is not loud; just beep beep similar to the new coffee makers.The countdown feature on the toaster is a help in seeing how much longer it will take to finish.If there is a bit of negativity it would be in the upper toast settings, given our family gets good results with setting 3 and under anyone using 5 or higher is probably making replacement briquettes for their Webber bbq.All in all this is a great toaster for the money and the prime shipping made it an even easier decision.Remember it's just a toaster.Also on the checkout I noticed a bamboo toast tool (like a set of tweezers) purchased that and now I am hooked on using them no more hot fingers.

I always use vintage whenever possible mainly because they 'don't make em like they used to'. I had a used Sears 4 slot vintage toaster for about 8 years and one side just failed. After seeing a recent talk about fire safety and hazards in the home, I decided a new model toaster was best this time. I bought this toaster based on exhaustive reviews. I love love love the design. Two wide slots that accomodate my bagels, homemade bread and more,and slimmed down for space saving. That is such a smart design! I leave my toaster on the counter and like the black so that it is not as noticable.It has the 'new' electrical smells the first use or two and I expect that is normal. I really like the digital display keeping you aprised of your toasting product and the time left till it is finished. It toasts like a dream too. Just right and very even. A much better job then the 5 pound Sears toaster did. The price was fair also. I'm surprised such a light weight appliance did such a great job, but I have to admit it surely met my expectations!
