The TI-80 was released with Algebra and Precalculus students in mind. Like the TI-81, it has no link port and is not intended for serious programming. Features: * Graphical analysis: function values, roots, intersections, maximums, minimums, derivatives, and integrals * 8-line by 16-character display * Defines, saves, and graphs up to four functions and six parametric equations * Slide cover included (If anyone knows how to do the code correctly to get breaks and paragraphs please email me; I tried HTML but it apparently doesn't take HTML)

Terrible. Almost nothing like is advertised. Calculator is completely written on and scratches up. Had some sticky residue on it as well. If I were to guess, I'd say this was taken/donated from a middle school. The big issue is that the calculator when used has all the numbers appear faded making it very difficult to see your calculations. Buttons are somewhat unresponsive as well. To top it off, the item can't be returned due to Amazon policy about calculators being dangerous to be returned (yet we receive it through mail). Do yourself a favor and avoid buying calculators from this seller Jake's Bookstore.

Bien reçue, il y a par contre un collant et du sharpie(marqueur indélébile) dessus. Long avant d'être arrivée...

This calculator is basically a smaller TI-81, but with matrices replaced by fractions. So, similar to the TI-81, it is missing numerical integration, intersections/roots, and has a limited equation memory of 4 in FUNCTION mode and 3 in PARAMETRIC.It is not particularly useful for Algebra I/II or Geometry because those courses often have the student using the numerical graphing functions on the calculator, or using matrices. The screen is also small and low-contrast (seriously, it is bad), and the processor is slow--even slower than the molasses-slow HP 48S plotting. According to Wikipedia, the processor is 980 KHz. It is quite small though, and easily fits in a pocket. It includes a complete series of TI-BASIC commands, and has all scientific functions.Simply think as graphing capabilities as a nice bonus--and use it as a programmable scientific. For the price at which I bought it, around $7 plus shipping, it was definitely worth it.

It arrived with bad batteries and wouldn't turn on. I purchased batteries and it worked but I would have expected to at least power it on

My son is in 7th grade honors math and wanted a graphing calculator just like the one he uses at school. As stated it does not come with batteries, but we were able to get the ones needed at our local walgreens. The calculator works great and this is a great value as I spent over $100 at a retail store for my daughter two years ago. Works just fine! It does have an etched inscription on the cover, which was noted in the description, but for the price, I find this a wonderful item. No complaints whatsoever. Awesome value. Great TX Instrument calculator.

Really love the calculator, what a great deal. My son was in need of a graphic calculator and this was the one we wanted.

Still kickin' after all these years. I bought this quite used, but it still performs well for my kids in our home school. It seems very obtuse compared to new models, but the price was right.
