Records but it disconnects often from my phone and I can't figure out if you can zoom in and out or not.Definitely too zoomed in for me when I use my spotting scope to see the moon.

This SVBONY SC001 WiFi Spotting Scope Camera made by Huawei Hisilicon, I would NOT recommend. Lacks everything you'd want in a camera besides just taking a simple low quality picture or video.The device hardware materials feel like a premium product, but seriously lacking in software is a huge drawback. You got 2 options, 1st to use it as an USB camera, or 2nd use the Camera using WiFi and an Android/iOS app.The app is very minimal, and only gives you these options:1. Photo mode (photo mode)2. Video mode (video recording)3. Manual mode (timed between shots, interval continuous shooting)4. And only things you can adjust in the app is Brightness.Lacks every basic camera options besides what's mentioned above:- No Digital Zoom- No Physical record button- No Exposure adjustments- No Shutter Speed options- No White-balance or ISO adjustments- NO FIRMWARE UPDATE options, so no UPDATES in future.

Will not fir the spotting scope I have (Outbound) and can't find an adapter to fit. Does work well and a astronomical scope.No zoom capability while viewing. You need to take a picture then zoom in with your photo editor.

The camera is ok, but the accompanying app is bad which makes the camera a bit unuseful.The contrast is not too good and the app can only control the brightnessThe provided card I garbage and does not store pictures or videos, I replaced it with a Kingston and it is usable now.Update: The company has since refunded the cost proving that thry care about the product and promised to improve it based on feedback. A very positive sign.

It's not even close to what you are going to see through the eyepiece but you will get the idea.I can display Saturn on the TV so my 83 year old father can see it but if you want to see qhat Saturn looks like, skip the camera.Stars for ease of use and simplicity.

My daughter had a telescope she never used (Celestron Astromaster 70). I took it to the shooting range and it worked pretty well, but I needed a second guy to spot. Got home and started looking around for a digital solution so I could shoot by myself and this came up. For $100, I’m pleased. Fits right in the standard 1.25” eyepiece receptacle. The telescope came with two eyepieces: 20 mm (45x zoom) and 10 mm (90x zoom). There’s not much information on the SC001, but I’d say it’s right at that 90x zoom. I don’t know a lot about optics, but I’m betting that with spotting scopes and telescopes with adjustable magnification, the SC001 will be fixed at the maximum. That’s a little tight for me at 100 yards if I’m not already on paper, but once I’m close it will work well, and I can use the 20 mm standard eyepiece to get there. It should do very well at 200 yards. There’s no zoom in the app. I bought a 0.5x magnification reducer and will report back if it works.The picture with four targets is at 100 yards exactly. I’d say reading that little text at 100 yards is pretty good for a cheap telescope with the SC001!Relative to the other reviews, the live preview worked well on both my iPhone 13 Pro Max and on an old Nexus 7” tablet. On my Android tablet, I use an app called Draw on Screen that allows me to mark my shots in real time.

My wife hates me for that. Ok 2nd thing is that this is the only product in this class. There isn't any company that produces a wifi/wireless eyepiece. No body! Boy I'm so thankful that I took a chance on this product. It is damn near perfect. It's only 1080x1920 and for my setup it’s alittle too much (lens) power. @15 yds I cant get the entire taget in view. See the video. This is beyond my expectations. There is a fault though. And that's the FPS I think this maybe 60fps maybe only 30fps but for rifle range scope use I need @ least 120fps because if I place a pellet and want to see why, I can view the video frame by frame and see if it was my fault or not. No kidding I can actually see that I probably pulled the shot when viewing the video. I say "probably" pulled the shot because I have to piece frame by frame video and the 60fps is too course to actually see if I pulled the shot but its good enough to see if I probably did pull it or not.This is an excellent tool. It is a must for any person wanting to see "why can't I shoot on target 🎯 " this unit plus video editing software allows u to see exactly why the bullet hit where it did. I, myself (being a lefty) pulls to the right when trigger is pulled. Whats ur excuse! Lol 😆

I have a MEADE DS10 (F4.5 FL:1143mm), need something I can precisely polar alignment. I got SVBONY SV165 (FL:120mm) with this camera. I could not find sensor size from spec. rough measure is about 4mmx6mm (don't quote on me). with FL 120mm, sharpCap gives about FOV 2.41'x1.36', which is easy to get enough stars for polar alignment. by the way, using .5x reducer to increase FOV does not work due to image low quality. I also tried SV205, even though it has 8M, but picture quality is far behind SC001, especially color compensation. ( Yes SV205 has more control allowed, but SC001 seems do it automatically quite well, in both day light condition on my spotting scope and on my night telescope.Another shining point is the WiFi feature, which makes the telescope very stable, I don't need bring the cellphone adapter for either my telescope or spotting scope. easy to capture and share the pictures.it does have some limitation: I cannot get ASCOM working even after downloaded ASCOMPlatform and SVBONY Camera drivers. so I cannot use PHD2 and NINA at this time. maybe it is only supported in SV305, that will be a big plus if it supports ASCOM. but you get what you paid for.Another chance of improvement: the front build-in filter (UV/IR) has female C-Mount instead of standard 1.25 thread, if you want to add other standard 1.25 filter, you have to use the adapter to convert C-Mount to 1.25, which is extra 1" long, this caused some struggle for FL. I plan to buy a standard UV/IR filter to solve this, if it can come with standard UV/IR filter (1.25) with a short 1.25 to C-Mount adapter, that will all cases easier.I'm picky on purchase. even it has some limitation, but really enable many my other scopes to use this. this is one of the few 5 I'd give.

I have an SV41. I just got all the parts to test this out.The system keeps dropping wiFi. As well the Focal length of the unit cannot allow fine focus on the scope.It doesn't meet advertised expectations.
