Premium Native Indiangrass Seeds - Non-GMO Open Pollinated
Create a thriving pollinator paradise with these premium native North American grass seeds, perfectly adapted for butterfly gardens, bee habitats, sustainable landscaping, and prairie restoration projects. Our heirloom native plant seeds deliver exceptional viability and represent authentic open-pollinated, non-GMO varieties from proven reliable genetic lines.
Adapted to USDA hardiness zones 4-9, these drought-tolerant perennial grasses excel in wildlife habitat creation, pollinator conservation, native plant gardening, and low-maintenance sustainable landscaping. Transform ordinary spaces into buzzing ecosystems that support native bees, attract butterflies, and provide essential grassland bird nesting habitat.
Indiangrass reaches 5-7 feet tall and produces spectacular golden-bronze plumes during late summer through fall. These naturally deer-resistant, drought-resistant plants feature self-seeding capabilities for naturalized meadow establishment, rain garden applications, erosion control, and expanding wildlife corridors.
Growing instructions: Direct sow in spring or fall in well-drained soils with full sun exposure. Seeds typically germinate within 14-21 days under proper conditions. These climate-adapted indigenous varieties support biodiversity, require minimal water once established, and provide season-long structure for pollinators.
Perfect for wildflower meadow creation, habitat restoration, native landscape design, water-wise gardening, and ecological stewardship. Seeds benefit from cold stratification and establish robust native plant populations for sustainable gardens that support local prairie ecosystems.

Third seed with a future pack date. All 3 were different species of Grasses. Im not sure how they will perform but Im set to follow the instructions and see what sprouts. 2 weeks from now cold stratification will be done and germination will begin. Guess we'll see. Will update how that goes. If they do well its a good deal for the price compared to store potted plants. The pouches are sealed well so no seeds escaped during their journey. These are deep rooting plants (like 7 feet) so keep away from drainfields, perforated drainage piping and other things you don't want clogged. But thats what makes them drought tolerant!

This review is for the Survival Garden Seeds - Indiangrass Seeds for Planting (Sorghastrum nutans) | Golden Prairie Plant | Drought-Tolerant North American Native Grass - 1 Pack.Really happy to have these seeds! I'm wanting to do some big raised beds of mixed ornamental grasses around property edges, and these are perfect and they'll add some color too all year long. If there's any issue with them not sprouting I'll update my review. Excited for the beauty these will add, the environment for butterflies/birds/small critters/insects, deer resistant, drought tolerant, vast root system helps control errosion, natural native grasses... Also like these are nonGMO seeds, and a family oowned business. It doesn't say if these are perennial or not, I hope they are! Regular price $ 4.98 per the listing for the packet, although it doesn't give an exact count/weight.

Indiangrass is a true gem of North American prairie lands, wild and carefree, it grows pretty tall and can be an aggressive spreader, but it is a great choice for a well maintained accent in landscaping (it needs no special attention mind, rather it needs to be reigned in with pruning), growing in a container, or en mass on land that just needs some kind of cover. This seed packet has far too little seed to be useful for that last purpose mentioned, but for my purposes as an accent ornamental in a raised bed, terraced land feature, or a planter pot, this is more seed than I and most small scale home gardeners will ever need. The seeds are intact, the front of the seed packet lists the common name, scientific name and a relevant picture of the grown plant for further research. The back of the packet has all the quick reference information needed to successfully plant the seeds, care for the plant, harvest it if applicable (it isn’t with indiangrass), and save seeds for future plantings. Overall it is a great seed packet.
