I've tried a couple of stools for guitar players. This is the first one I'm pleased with.I was able to assemble this stool in about five minutes. The installation is toolless. Everything connects via screws with knobs attached. If you aren't used to putting things like this together, it still shouldn't take more than ten minutes. The seat height is adjustable, but you have to completely unscrew a part to do so. The footrest is not adjustable, but once I had the seat adjusted, it was at a comfortable height for me. The backrest can be adjusted closer to the seat or further, but not up or down. There is a guitar hanger on the back of the seat, but no support for the guitar body. I'm not sure a bass guitar would work on the hangar if the seat is adjusted as low as it can go; it might be too low. Sorry, I didn't have one to try it out. The rear legs can fold forward for transport or storage. They can also lock in place with a few twists of a knob. The seat is comfortable and the stool is quite stable. I'm 220lbs and it easily held my weight. I felt safe even when leaning on the backrest. However, there are a couple of noticeable wobbles, both with the seat itself and with the backrest. This is due to knobs holding things in place via friction vs screwing into recessed nuts. I was accustomed to the wobbles after a few uses, but I do think they could have made it more secure feeling.Again, this is the best guitar player's stool I've tried so far and the one I'll be keeping. I do wish they had eliminated the wobbles.

This is a good quality chair that is adjustable. It is light enough for a kid to move. The added holder for a guitar is nice.Assembly was easy and everything came in perfect shape. My son plays guitar and mandolin mostly. He loves this chair for mandolin. He needs his feet up to position it. This is perfect. Where his electric guitar he likes a swivel to move with a larger instrument. So this chairs real plus is how it works so well with small string instruments.

I already have a little bar stool that works pretty well for playing guitar, but it lacks a back rest, and this portable seat also has a hook on the backrest to hang your guitar up in between sets. The heavy gauge metal will easily support even the heaviest players, while providing a place to prop up your heel, like a barstool. The back support allows you to play longer without tiring out your back. The padded "throne" style seat pad will keep you comfortable on stage or off, indoors or out. This chair makes for a pretty complete stage setup if you play acoustic, and nowadays most electric players just plug their preamp into the PA system soundboard, so with your instrument and this handy seat/stand, you "have guitar - can travel."While rather heavy, this chair breaks down easily and quickly, without any tools, and packs away neatly. It easily fits in my car's trunk, along with my guitar case, so I'm always ready to hit the stage at a moment's notice. Throw this thing in your trunk along with your favorite axe, and you never miss another opportunity to jam.

This is a really sturdy and well designed chair. It took maybe 10 minutes to assemble following the included instruction sheet. The footrest is at just the right height so that our knee is parallel with the ground and you can rest the guitar on it and the seat height is adjustable.I'm 5' 10" and a heavy guy and this chair is sturdy supporting my weight comfortably and steadily. Multiple adjustments such as seat height and backrest can be made with no tools needed. The added hanging guitar mount is a nice touch and the picture shows a full-size Fender Stratocaster on it.I've got other Stritch products and they are all made to a high standard. Highly recommended.
