I used to be guilty of having too many plastic food containers. Not only did I store leftovers in them, I heated in them, ate out of them, and put them in the dishwasher. Now we know that plastic components can leach into food, especially when heated, and the minute scratches that occur over time add to the microplastic burden of the planet, and our bodies.Containers made entirely of glass are great, but quite heavy. Now we have these stainless containers with glass tops: this review is specifically for Stainless Steel Meal Prep Containers with Glass Lids - 304 Stainless Steel Kitchen Container for Office Lunches and Camping Trips by Quinieda. The dimensions of the container I got are 6.5"L x 2"W x 4.6"H -- great for leftovers, some veggies or a salad, or any other items that you'd like to keep in a sturdy container. The stainless steel is a breeze to clean. Nearly everything practically wipes right out. While I primarily use it for storing items in the fridge this container can also be used to reheat items in the oven or on a hot plate. The listing says it is microwave safe and I know that there 304 grade stainless steel containers with curved edges (like this one) are supposed to be safe in the microwave. I am not brave enought to try this! The clear glass top is terrific, easy to see through. There is a steam hole for reheating that is plugged with a rubber stopper to make the container leakproof. While the little handle attached to the stopper is very handy for pulling off the top it's easy to remove the top with the flange on the lid. The flange around the glass is silicone and forms a good seal. The listing for this items does not indicate if the glass is borosilicate or tempered glass, or even if the container can be used in the oven with it's lid (although the steam hole suggests it can). There is nothing in the box regarding safety or use, so one star less for that shortcoming.

This is a nice container. I little smaller than I thought it would be, but it will hold a portion sized lunch. I love that it is stainless steel with a glass lid as we try to stay away fill plastic. The materials seem durable and should last us for a long time.

Perfect for camping or food to take to the office. Especially if it’s stew. Because it’s metal, it is not microwaveable and easily cleaned. The lid is tight, so spilling the contents won’t happen. The metal is thick to withstand a campfire, but not enough to go into the fire. I like using it for spreads since it’s large enough to make several sandwiches for a family. Freezing or putting into a refrigerator is what we use this for. I would definitely purchase again.

This is perfect for storage of anything you need to keep sealed. I am using it to store my insulin pens, and it works great.

A slightly smaller but useful size for food and leftovers. Stainless steel is light but seems sturdy and the glass lid is thick and high quality. It does make this more fragile but the glass seems thick enough and has held up well so far. This is great if you’re looking for something that has NO plastic AT ALL. I’m not over the moon but I’m still giving it 5 stars because it is exactly as described.
