Worked fine even through the threads were a little damaged. There is no protective packaging. I was expected a 3 pack because that is the description. Only one was delivered. What a rip-off.

I had bought a Charlotte Pipe 4-in PVC DWV Cleanout Plug previously, and it didn't go far enough into the pipe for me to feel comfortable that the lawnmower would clear it so I pulled it out and put this Sioux Chief one in instead. The Sioux Chief plug is just a little smaller diameter so it goes in further. If you're going to bother using a flat-top low profile plug use this one! Be advised that you can't just keep tightening one of these to get it to go down farther; you'll get it really stuck or break something. Pipe thread expands as you tighten it (it's like a screw that gets fatter at the top while the pipe is threaded so it gets thinner as you go down). I had forgotten that and had tried to force the Charlotte one down flush by overtightening it, and I'm amazed I got it back out without breaking anything (using a 6 foot cheater bar). Learn from my mistake, get this Sioux Chief plug and don't overtighten it!

My lawn mower at the top square handle on my old plug due to a mix of bad construction on how the plug is placed too high and the old plug not being recessed. This one is white, which I wish was black, but other than that it fits nicely and the lawn mower can no longer chew on it.

This cap fits low enough to the ground that I can mow right over it without catching my blades and destroying the top (Did this twice). Needed my large plumbers adjustable pliers to insert into the ridges on top in order to tighten down completely.

Good quality. Very nice brass insert. This polypropylene plug will not seize up on ABS or PVC. Please note that the pic is outdated. There are now two recesses at right angles rather than on linear recess. ie. its now a cross rather than a single recess. ...An improvement that the pics have not kept up with. I cannot figure out why it is called a Sioux Chief. I did not know that the Sioux had polypropylene plumbing, ...or plumbing of any kind for that matter.Maybe just the chief....

Purchased to cap an exterior drain line inspection port. The original cap protruded and has been clipped by the lawn mower twice now. This should resolve that issue. The item received is slightly different than the one shown. The one shown has a "-" slot whereas the one received is "+" shaped. In the center is a recessed brass threaded insert to presumably attach a decorative cap if desired.
