I bought the SIMO Solis 5G WiFi Mobile Hotspot for a trip, hoping for reliable connectivity, but it was a huge letdown. The unlimited data plan is absurdly slow—pages wouldn’t load, videos buffered endlessly, and basic apps timed out. Nothing worked! I had to ditch it and buy a 10GB plan for $120, which burned through in just one day. That’s outrageous pricing for such limited usability. It also claims to double as a charger, but that’s a total lie—it struggles to even maintain its own battery for a full day, let alone charge anything else.Really disappointed, and because of my trip (the reason I got it), I missed the return window. Avoid this if you need something dependable.

I do a lot of international travel and needed to be able to connect me and my team to reliable internet especially during trade shows. I have used it very successfully in multiple cities in Mexico, Colombia and China and single city in Aruba. It loses one 1/2 a star for its very slow or not working when I return to the USA. You get 1GB free to use per month which is nice. When traveling with my team and using it as a hotspot I purchase the Unlimited International Plan for $99 a month which is a steal compared to US international carrier plans. I have had 4 phones, two iPads and two computers connected to it at the same time. It is very easy to purchase plans and also disable them from the website, no hassle of trying to call support or jumping through hoops. I wish I could select 4.5 stars because it is a great device with reasonable plans and great functionality.

The Solis 5G hotspot is far better than I ever imagined. Since I got it, I’ve used it across St. Martin, and other Caribbean islands ,and it has worked flawlessly. Connection is smooth and hassle-free ,no complicated setup, no dropped signals. Just turn it on and you're good to go. Whether for work or staying connected while exploring, this device has been a lifesaver. If you travel a lot, this is a must have. The plans are flexible and affordable, and the performance is seriously impressive. I can confidently say you won’t regret getting one.

I travel a lot for work and needed something reliable, fast, and portable—and the SIMO Solis 5G hotspot absolutely delivered. Setup was quick and painless right out of the box. I was up and running within minutes. The 5G speeds are no joke—streaming, Zoom calls, uploading files—everything is smooth, even with multiple devices connected. The battery life is also solid. I’ve gone a full day without needing to plug in, which is a huge win for someone constantly on the move. What I love most? No SIM card needed. It automatically connects to the strongest available network. That flexibility, especially when traveling across states, is just pure awesomeness. If you need reliable internet on the go, I highly recommend this little powerhouse. It’s become one of my must-have tools.

I use this hotspot for a number of applications.1) I commute to work daily on the bus and this allows me to work during my commute.2) I DJ on the weekends and I use this when I am at bars or clubs and need access my cloud storage and also a program I use for pics that requires internet connection3) As a backup at home when my Wi-Fi goes out. I use a lot of TV streaming services and when my wifi goes out this will do in a pinch.Works flawless for all that I use this hotspot for. Definitely a good buy and value for the money.

I have tried both esim's and SIMO Solis 5G WiFi. The esim option one always needs to get a wifi connection first and then monkey with the setting to get it going. The SIMO Solis 5G WiFi just works every single time. I always turn mine on as the plane lands and before I get off the plane I have connection and can talk to family. Service is actually better then what local people have because you can get the SIMO to look for a better signal if needed. I carry one in my car now all the time, last time my carrier went down for a day and I was stuck, but with this I can always connect, this is a must have for preppers since it works with any carrier if one is not available.

Works as it should. I have noticed other comments from last year stating it had some issues. Went into settings and noticed that they have firmware updates and it did install and updated my device. A lot of those older issues may have been addressed. As far as I can tell it does the job effectively.

I heard this new 5G unit was the latest in hotspots. When I received the unit, I tested it in downtown Vancouver, from the 30th floor of a condominium and there was less than 2 MB/s download and less than 1 MB/s upload. I was planning to use this in rural areas of Canada which would be preposterous. I sent it back immediately and still waiting for refund. It's junk.

We go camping with our RV and some spots claim they have WiFi but the signal is weak because they don’t have extenders. In any case we’ve found out because now we are there and are faced with that issue. I have researched a lot and for a long time. I saw some but my issue was that you would need a monthly plan and we still work full time and only go out for 5-7 days. So a monthly plan was overkill. I didn’t want to drill hole on or in my camper (another draw back). Then I discovered first Solis Lite but still didn’t jump on it. I loved the concept but I never bought it. Forgot about it for a while. Went on some camping trips had good WiFi, forgot about it a little more. Then came across the 5g Solis. This one did spark my interest a little bit more so I dove into the actual website to find out more about it. I was taken aback that not only does the work here in the states but over seas too. No SIM card so you aren’t married to just one cellphone carrier (big plus for me)! It works internationally and we do travel. It was very easy almost a no brainer not to get it. So I added it to my cart (that’s a big thing if you make it to my cart). I kept looking and researching it and on prime day the price went down significantly which made it even easier to hit checkout; and I did. I told my coworkers about it because he too was looking for something and he bought it too.So life after 6 months with it- still amazing! I even take it to work with me because signal is bad in my office. When we’ve gone camping, it has made streaming super easy (15yr son gaming at night). Battery last pretty decent and everything is done online through the website. Which makes purchasing more when you need it very easy.Again I love it, my coworker loves his. Best thing that took me a long time to get. Now I never leave home without it.
