I've ordered this same part from this same listing before, and it used to be the correct part as pictured. I most recently reordered this in July 2024 and was sent a different part which does not fit my engine. I have 3 Mercury engines, from a range of years and different horsepowers, and the original part I was expecting is the correct part for all 3. What I received is a different connector that does not work properly for any of them - it can be forced on and will work for a short time, but it's not the right connector and can impede fuel flow and cause engine problems (for the short time it works before breaking due to the wrong parts being forced together). Everyone selling these likes to claim that this (incorrect) part works with Mercury but it does not.

The description states this is 5/16", but it is 3/8. I now have a useless connector and since I waited too long to try it I'm outside the return window.

Have to really push it on 09 Tohatsu 20 MFS but it does go on. Maybe will get better in time. In side by side photo OEM on right sierra on left. Its definitely not a 10 $ part should be like 5 for quality

Perfect fit did the job.Mercury fittings ball gasket failed after three uses this is the best fitting for Tohatsu and Nissan outboards.

I purchased this to use with a Tohatsu 6 hp outboard. Worked fine. Much better price than buying from a boat shop.
