Works best when hooked to D ring instead of over saddle horn. Use the snap and snap it to the D ring behind the cinch. That puts it below or just behind the saddle stirrup instead of in front of it. Put right foot in it and then left foot into saddle stirrup, like a rope ladder. I had to tie a knot in it to get it to the correct length to make the step up to the saddle stirrup correct. My old one had a rubber strip that was sewn into the fabric instead of the metal that slides around that this new one has. Liked the old one better but this one still works. Would like it if it could be adjusted shorter so I didn't have to tie a knot in it.

As soon as you put any weight into the stirrup you end up under the horse.

The step up stirrup just pushes under the horses belly and does not provide a safe step to get to the stirrup
