This $6.99 set of two "Sekvira" brand stainless 1/2-inch NPT nipples (Amazon ASIN B0DXQCLMRK) is well made. The stainless steel set weighed 90 grams (about 1-5/8 ounces each) and measured at 1-1/2 inches long, with a full 9/16-inch of threads on each end (about 7.88 threads on each end). The hex nut in the middle was thick at about 1/4-inch wide for your wrench to grab onto, and one of the flat faces was well marked with "304 1/2" which helps to know what the threads and materials are when you're rummaging though a bucket of fittings ten years from now. These fittings will last those ten years and more because they're 304 stainless steel (which the Amazon listing claims is lead free, but it's for shower water, so that shouldn't matter) and they're thick and well made. Even though they're male fittings, they came with four washers, two black rubber washers and two clear silicone washers, of slightly different thicknesses, where they're useful for the female end of most shower hoses. It's a nice touch that they came with these washers even as most shower hose 1/2-inch nipples don't come with them.I do very much love the quality of these nipples, but I'm going to take a point off for the marketing hyperbole in the Amazon listing, where there's untoward confusion caused by saying they fit G1/2 threads. They do not. They're close. But they're completely different threads. NPT (National Pipe Taper) is a tapered thread used in North America. It seals by thread deformation and typically doesn’t need a gasket. G1/2 (also called BSPP or British Standard Pipe Parallel) is a parallel thread common in Europe and Asia. It requires a gasket or O-ring to seal properly. So when they say in the Amazon listing (verbatim) "Shower hose adapter works with all standard G1/2" (1/2 IPS) shower hoses - just twist it on and you're set", that's just wrong. It might work. It might not. But tapered and straight thread standards are not designed to be mated together. They're just not. Despite what marketing might tell you. An engineer wouldn't say they're compatible, although with tape and gaskets you might be able to make the fit work. But essentially, the fit will be wrong. And the functionality will suffer as it can always leak later.Another confusing part of the listing is the claim (verbatim) of "Built-in leak-proof washers mean no need for Teflon tape", where, well, what can I say. NPT threads are DESIGNED to be sealed with Teflon tape. It's not expensive. It's not difficult to use. Why would you add a washer (which can fall out accidentally when working on the plumbing) when you can CORRECTLY use Teflon tape? I think this is another extraneous bit of unnecessary marketing hyperbole.Overall, I hate to ruin the score of these exemplary 1/2-inch NPT nipples, which are at a great price, and which themselves earn a five out of five stars, but the marketing confusion will cause others to make mistakes so I have to ding the score accordingly, which is a shame because I really like the quality of these pipe nipples. The quality of the Amazon description is what I dislike. Please note you will find detailed visuals included with this review to further help guide your expectations. I took the time to write this review so that someone like you might feel more confident in their choice.

The couplers come with sets of o-rings to attach to your shower head and shower wand of your choice. We needed a way to attach another hose to lengthen the shower wand when we give our dogs a bath. No leaks. Works great.5 out of 5 stars.

Plumbing can be basic as long as you stick to the right size for parts. These 1/2" beauty's make it possible to union two 1/2" FIP water supply hoses together. No leaks using just the included seals. IYKYK

Want an extremely long shower hose? These are exactly what you need to connect two shower hoses together. Depending on the exact design of your shower head and existing hose, these may not look just right, but they'll work.We used these with the outdoor shower on our travel trailer. The hose that came with our trailer is ridiculously short. I use these two to add about ten feet of length. I also added a quick release to the original hose so I can disconnect the set up and store for traveling.
