I had no problems with the padding, and I cinch my belt down super tight. Also, I would not go with the FLEX type again. When I wore my friends non-FLEX device, I could tell that my head was restrained, looking down. With the FLEX, I’m not sure if it would keep my head from going too far?

Took me past the return period to figure out why my collarbones hurt so much. It's a shame because the design is fantastic. Materials are decent too and functionality is Amazon!

It fits well and works very well. It was very good range of motion for my head which is important to me.I don't have the annoying feeling that I can't turn my head to the all of the way to look at my mirrors that I've had with other devices.The lack of padding is really bad with this, HOWEVER I fixed it by attaching my own foam pieces to the bottom of it and this last race was great. No more collarbone pain.

I saw the reviews warning against lack of padding and should have taken the advice. I'm a fan of Schroth products, this is not one of them. This thing is a torture device...painful to wear. Back to HANS III.

Do not buy it, there is no padding at all, it hurts the shoulders a lot, I barely managed to wear it for two races. Even 3 days later my shoulders are not completely healed.

The SHR is so much more comfortable than HANS by Simpson. I couldn't be happier with the purchase. Buy a large if you have wider/more muscular build. This fits me perfect (16" neck).
