The fin on top of the helmet is a separate piece that you must connect. The helmet fits well WITHOUT the fin, but when I added the fin it deformed the helmet such that it didn't fit on my head. I am giving this item 3 stars (instead of only 1) for two reasons: first, it's the most accurate looking Roman soldier helmet for a budget price. Second, the helmet still looks legitimate without the fin.
