Replacement Pitman Arm - The pitman arm works with the steering gear that creates a horizontal movement to turn the front wheels left and right. The steering gear receives input to the steering shaft from the steering wheel and rotates the pitman arm, the rotational motion of the pitman arm creates a side to side motion in the steering linkage which changes the directions of the front wheels. This is applicable to Silverado 3500 HD, Savana 3500 and Sierra 3500 HD vehicles.
