This keeps my boots from hitting the rear brake master cylinder. I had already displaced the rubber boot covering it and decided this protector was a must-have. It fits well, it's strong and it's easy to put on. I do wish that whoever is making these could add a small section that covers the actual brakeline tubing that's attached.

This is a nice looking, really well designed and made rear master cylinder guard with a good black powder coat finish. This is a good feature for protecting the operation of your rear brakes, particularly in case of a fall. This was easy to install with the existing master cylinder bolts, and is a straightforward procedure that does not require any disconnection of hydraulic components. Just remove the bolts holding the master cylinder to the frame, put them through this protector, then reinstall them back where they came out of. Make sure they are good and tight, or, even better, put a drop of blue locktite on the bolts before reinstalling them, so there is no danger of the bolts coming loose or disappearing while riding. This is a good design and good quality, it fits exactly correctly, and is well worth it's low cost for the protection it offers.
