I decided to try this different style of stick from Promark. I was very pleasantly surprised as the stick has great grip when I normally sand my sticks before using them to increase grip and feel.

Pour les "grands nerveux" (genre JM du Muppets Show), ces baguettes sont un bonheur... usure moyenne à constater néanmoins. L'effet "rebound" est également significative ; pour un jeu plus "calme", elle sont également parfaite.

These sticks work like drumsticks great sound and durability but the added style is a huge plus. Also the daddario points system is great

Been playing with HICKORY as a beginner and then shifted to OAK for years!So, shifting from FIREGRAIN was a different ballgame for me. It gave me the best of two worlds,the dense feel that I am used to playing OAK, and the softness of those rebounds from Hickory.

These hardened drumsticks seemed awesome - until I performed with them.While most drumsticks will slowly get "chewed away" during performances, these fire hardened sticks barely showed any wear at first. Then, instead of slowly wearing like a normal drumsticks, after a few songs huge chunks started popping off of it. Makes sense - fire hardening makes the wood more rigid but also more brittle.These ended up lasting about half a set on stage and then I tossed em for a pair of regular hickory sticks.
