Ophthalmic pinhole eye occluders are used for visual acuity check during eye exam. They are efficient tools for ophthalmologist, orthoptist or optometrist to distinguish visual defects caused by refractive error, and to estimate if corrective lenses is helpful for your eye vision. Also helpful in testing visual acuity in mydriatic patients.

The pinholes are small enough to be useful but you have to hold it touching eye to use which I don't like. Maybe if they made the "paddle" bigger or more convex. The blank paddle seems useless as it's not big enough to completely block off vision from an eye. Nice idea generally since i like the long handles. Note
