So far I have only used the 7 series PID setting in my Series 7 Sportsman and it seems to work very well. There is some temperature discrepancy between the controller and my (TRUSTED) 3rd party probes but it is very stable which makes it easy to adjust the setting higher or lower as needed to get the desired temp on the 3rd party probes. I will be upgrading my other vertical smoker with one of these soon.
