A cat litter box always smells unless cleaned regularly and thoroughly. I do notice less odor overall than with the former open, disposable litter box my mother used before. How necessary or effective the "filter" is I cannot say, but I bought a replacement one anyway. Time will tell, eh?

They are not worth purchasing. Don’t waste your money. They are very then and fall apart easily. Especially if your cat gets a hold of it. It’s a mess. Plus, they don’t even fit the shape of the area. So yes, it’s easily removable, that’s if it last long enough to take it out.

Depending on your cat litter box filter size thing. I double it because my cat keeps playing with it (cuz it’s at the top of the litter box, and it’s a dome) but it does what it’s supposed to do. My cat is just weird lol

I have had this for a while now and it works well catching litter as she jumps out of box. Once a week (maybe every other week) I fold it and pour the litter back in the box, and once a month bring it outside and really clean it out. I do use a vacuum every other day and that sucks it out of the little holes until I dump it.

My litter box has 2 slots- these were too big and i tried to pull them through but they are too big and the sides on one was coming apart even before I tried the one- gravel stuff on the floor. I taped them on top of the cat litter box. Delivery was quick- directions tell you not to handle them except right before you use them, they are fragile- gravel inside- can tear very easy. I will be searching for something to fit what i had-
