I did NOT receive blue lead!!! I specifically ordered the blue lead refills because I couldn’t buy them in any stores in my area. The product I received is in packaging labeled “blue” but the color is actually just standard gray. I don’t know how this happened. Extremely disappointed.

Great for light sketching or drawing and I mean LIGHT. I do love this lead to doodle or such with but if you draw dark have fun trying to erase. Because this lead isn't like your normal graphite it will stay more on the paper when you erase compared to normal black lead.

I bought this graphite for laying in guidelines for various types of drawings (sketches, botanical illustrations, etc.) thinking that it would be similar to the Stadetler blue "non photo-reproducible" graphite that I used in the 1980's for similar purposes. While this does work generally the same as that it is different. For one thing, this is "waxier" and you can really lay down a deep blue line - think ultramarine blue rather than the pale cerulean blue that I was looking for. That said, if you use a light hand you can easily get a very pale cerulean line that can be covered completely with standard graphite, various inks, watercolor, etc. I have only made light, thin lines so I cant say if the waxiness will act as a resist to watercolor or not but it is simple to avoid a heavy weight line - just use a light hand.As to the comments that this is brittle, I have not seen this myself, but I always use a light hand when drawing. It can see how it would see brittle, but as far as I can tell it is no more brittle than any other Pentel graphite. If you are looking to use a fair amount of pressure with any mechanical pencil you're likely to break the graphite - this tool is not designed for lots of pressure. While, sadly, this blue graphite does not come in different hardness's, I would suggest anyone who is having difficulty with breakage simply move to a softer graphite. Getting darker values is always far easier with a softer graphite than with more pressure. Either that or switch to wooden pencils or thicker graphite since either will result in a stronger 'lead'

Doesn't erase very well, which isn't surprising, but also when scanning the blue takes a bit of fiddling to make disappear. It's also a very waxy led, so some inks won't write over this led too well. It's a great blue led for its price, but there are better blue leds out there if you've got the money.

ces mines correspondent à ce que j'attendais en terme de couleur mais elles sont extrêmement facilement cassables et trop chères à mon goût. Je ne pense pas reprendre celles-là la prochaine fois

I use this type of leads to rough out my artwork and so for they are working great. You have to be careful of course, not to extend to much of the lead out of the pencil as it will break under pressure and does most thing in life.

It breaks very easily. You also have to push a little harder than with normal lead which causes it to break more often. Its not very smooth either, it sort of sticks as you write. I won't be using. Not good for daily writing needs, might work for you if its only occasional use.

I bought these leads after seeing them being used by Big Gus on Tattoo Nightmares and I'm definitely buying more. When light pressure is used, you get the same if not close non-photo blue hue which is useful in laying out my line work. Going over it a couple of times or using harder pressure, the lines change color to a indigo or deep navy blue for the final drawing that I usually wind up inking. I bought two of these tubes and I've been burning through them since from technical drawings to laying out cartoons in my sketchbooks.I was instantly in love with these leads, so much so that I considered dumping my numerous sketch pencils just to use this particular one in my favorite mechanical pencils. One or two clicks is enough to draw quite a ways and usually safe as they tend to break with excessive pressure or odd angles especially while on my drafting table. For best results, use a thin barrel mechanical pencil like the Zebra ZEB54012.Works just as good with GraphGear 500 drafting pencil :DOverall I recommend these for artists of all calibers, this is worth the cost!

I received this item on time and in great condition. I have difficulty finding this locally, so I was thrilled to find it online. As a designer, I use it to make preliminary plans, and write names of plant materials that then won't show up when I print it. It's great stuff. Couldn't design without it!
