The automatic inline/angle automatic valve allows for installation through a side or bottom inlet. A cap seals the port whichever port you do not use. It features a 24 VAC solenoid, manual actuation lever, and flow control. An internal scrubber filter helps keep the valve clog-free. The threads are 1-inch female pipe thread (FPT) and are compatible with Schedule 40 and 80 PVC fittings. The 100 Series solenoid features nickel-plated copper wire and is compatible with all major brands of 24 VAC irrigation controllers. We recommend B-hyve controllers for optimum water conservation and PVC-Lock fittings for fast, glue-free installation. For outdoor irrigation use with cold water only.

I swapped this pressure regulation top onto my existing Orbit base - see photo. Installed easily but it turns out the diaphragm is just slightly different so it couldn't form a tight seal and leaked constantly.Otherwise this is a high quality valve, just be careful with retrofitting.

I ordered these to hopefully replace the lids on my old valves. This would have been almost as cheap as replacing the diaphragms & solenoids and would have new springs, etc. I have black orbit valves that are about 25 years old. They don't make them anymore or replacement parts except for the diaphragm & solenoid as best I can find out. I think my old valves were the same model number as these and from what I can research were discontinued in 2013. My old valve has a metal nipple in the base that sticks up into the solenoid screw on adjacent area of the lid. This one has a plastic nipple in the lid that sticks down into the solenoid adjacent area base. This one has a long pin in the lid that goes through the spring. My old one did not have this pin. Except for the nipples this top would have worked. Everything else matched up. I am very disappointed with Orbit not offering replacement parts. When any one of my six valves goes bad I will have to spend a considerable amount of money and replace them all due to my conduit set up. I will not be buying Orbit. Currently I am using the old valve I was trying to fix. I ended up having to call in a repairman and he was able to use the old valve for now. I am also upset with Orbit because of having to spend that money doing that. Long story short, the new Orbit solenoids I put in did not work. He installed Irritrol solenoids and the valves went back to working. Also in my trying to fix my problem I called Orbit several times. Bad customer service. On hold forever and when I did talk to someone they knew absolutely nothing about there old or new products and seemed to be reading from a manual which told them nothing that they could help me with. Very disappointed in their products. It cost me $200 dollars for a repairman to replace a new $10 Orbit solenoid with a Irritrol solenoid because I could not figure out that the new part was the reason I could not get the valve to work. This is all on Orbit and not an Amazon problem. Amazon gave great order and delivery service.

I purchased this valve as an exact match of the same valve I installed about 5 years ago and developed a leak. At first I thought it was the diaphragm, but when I replaced with a new one the leak was still there. I thought replacing the top half of the valve with the new parts would fix the leak but it was still present. On closer inspection I found a hairline crack on the lower half of the valve (see picture) which was the source of the leak. Unfortunately I had to cut the manifold to install the entire new valve which is now running and working great!

I had an older model of this valve in my sprinkler system. After 15 years they were worn out. The new models were an easy replacement and an improvement. The body is stronger, and it has an easy on test feature by twisting a simple valve on top. They work great!

Orbit discontinued the 57020 valve with the bleeder valve currently shown on amazon (June 2013). They replaced it with a completely new design using the same exact part number. I uploaded a photo of the new design. The parts are NOT interchangeable. The valve cover on one of my valves broke. I purchased this from Amazon since the picture showed what I needed but I received the new version. Orbit claims to no longer have any replacement covers for the older 57020. I am pretty disappointed in Orbit. They do not stand behind their products. I will now have to dig up the entire manifold to replace the defective valve. I can assure you I will not be using anything from Orbit. Amazon was great and made the return process very easy.
