This splendid chest by Abel Rios features hand-elaborated designs inspired by figures from pre-Hispanic Peruvian culture. The sun god and the moon goddess appear on all sides in exquisitely tooled leather that covers a base of cedar. Inside, a shallow lift-out tray has two compartments and, beneath, there is plenty of space for your personal treasures. Antique-style handles, lock and key add a touch of elegance.

I have been crafting fine leather products since the age of 16. Initially, I began by helping my older brother Hector in his leather workshop. I learned the wonderful art of leather work. When I was 23 years old I decided to become an independent artisan. I opened my own workshop in my home. Fortunately, my work has gained considerable popularity, and I greatly enjoy the responses that I continue to receive when people see my creations.
