This is an awesome little camera on sale for Prime Day.It is similar to Nikon Coolpix cameras which have become more expensive. The 40x zoom gives it an advantage over phone cameras. The mobile app works for transferring photos.Old school batteries are nice when on vacation. You don’t have to worry about losing a battery charger for it.It is much easier to find more batteries for the camera.

This is a low-end bridge camera yet takes great pictures. Images are sharp, color saturation is good, zoom works really well. I needed a camera to replace my compact Canon I take hiking and this is great for that.

I've been a long-time DSLR and mirrorless photographer, mostly an enthusiast with a smattering of paid gigs. Currently three pro-grade cameras and a big stable of premium lenses to call on. I got this mostly on a whim. Well hallelujah, this bridge camera captures darn nice images, even at full zoom. I would have said no way if I hadn't had the camera in hand and done so myself. If you're a casual photographer who sometimes has need of a decent telephoto or wide angle, something better capturing more detail than your iPhone or Pixel, but not willing to go all-n with a several thousand $ camera kit, this Minolta deserves consideration.Even with the photo gear I have, I might choose to carry this single-lens camera for vacations ans such except for one omission: An optical viewfinder, which I consier essential for quick captures an photos I care about. If all your current photos are done with a smartphone, you won't have any problems with the Minolta. it's simple to use, compact, well-designed, and the image quality is outstanding. Highly recommended! In my case, I'll probably use it on occasion with little worry that the captured images won't be up to par for general use, but no OVF limits its utility for me.

Very disappointed in packaging. The camera was not in its original box, it was in a plastic bag. The USB Cable was not included. No warranty card was included. Batteries and SD card were in the camera. THE CAMERA WAS USED. THERE WERE PICTURES OF A MAN AND ELEPHANTS FROM A SAFARI.I am going to return this camera and ask for a replacement with all parts included.

I have wanted a compact point and shoot with a good optical zoom and this one was perfect. I need to learn all the different settings still, but macro pictures of some flowers came out amazing. I need to figure out how to focus better with the fully zoomed lense as it is shaky and hard to focus with auto focus just holding the camera. I'm excited to have this camera for zooming more than my phone camera can. The price is reasonable and comparable to other similar cameras.

For the price, this digital 20MP Minolta MN40Z camera has an excellent quality lens that takes high resolution pictures. Now add the ability to take high resolution sharp zoomed pictures of very distant objects, birds (egret or heron), the moon, etc. using the 40x optical zoom is a nice bonus unavailable with modern phones. Taking high quality pictures is very easy just using the Auto mode, it’s like point, focus/zoom & shoot! But if you want to take a picture of the full moon in detail (see included picture), you can use a tripod, then select the Manual mode and play around with the film speed (ISO) and shutter speed to get a nice detailed photograph. And that’s the high point for this camera, you can take photos automatically easily and also choose to customize your photos using options in the Manual mode. The included case, strap and lens cover w/attached string makes this a nice combination. I highly recommend this to anyone that likes to take high quality pictures.
