I mean while wearing it, you can clearly tell that is a fake beard and wig. The quality of the "hair" totally gives it away even id the way it fits doesn't. So would I wear for serious cosplaying? No. Is it good for Halloween costumes? Definitely.

I ordered this wig and beard combo in hopes of using it for a Gandalf costume. Even if the hair did not work, I hoped to at least use the beard. The thing that upsets me the most about this product is the very first word in the title states it is realistic looking. There is nothing realistic about either the wig nor the beard! Both pieces feel and look cheaply made.I put on just the wig first and tried to do something with the giant grey mop I was presented with in the mirror. My daughter jokingly said I looked less like Gandalf and more Ike Gimli the Warrior Dwarf. Unfortunately, no amount of brushing would get this wig to look anything like the “wig” being worn by the model in the listings main picture. I tried the beard next and quickly realized that it was nothing more than a toy beard that could be used for Halloween or for kids dress up playtime. The mustache part of the beard was a mess, half the mustache was okay the other half stayed bent up into the air and no matter what I did with it.Going back to the model in the listings main picture. The model is either wearing his own hair and beard or he’s wearing the wig/beard and the image has been seriously photoshopped. I have worked with dozens of wigs in my life, so I do have a little bit of experience with them and there is no way that I can get this set to look anywhere near as good a what is shown in that picture.I will be donating this set to our churches youth ministry, they will use it for an occasional play or skit.

--Realistic gray Wizard Beard and Wig - Halloween Funny Adult Wizard Beard and Wig Costume Accessories--This is definitely for a Halloween costume as the hair quality is....meh. It is NOT realistic unless you know someone who is able to grow curly Christmas tinsel. Some of the hair isn't as shiny, but the hair is shiny, not natural. That said, if you want shiny grey hair for a particular effect, this will fit the bill. Luckily there is a great quantity of hair as it is falling out--there were a good number of strands laying together in a clump when I opened the wig. The wig has no clips or combs, although the design of the wig is different than a regular wig and stretches to your head and seems to make it stay on pretty well without clips. There is no wig cap included, although as long as you don't have lots of your own hair, there is so much hair to start on the wig that you can probably easily hide your own hair inside the wig and/or tuck some of it under the wig's cap. Sadly, the construction also needs work. About 3/4 of the wig has an elastic edging, however the front 1/4 is a rolled edge for a realistic look. Problem is, mine is not stitched properly and the front center comes unrolled, showing the raw edge--right at the top of your forehead. Add to that, at the top center there is a hole right behind the edge in the mesh so it is pulling away from the raw edge, which is also the location where the raw edge is not rolled back and stitched. The beard doesn't really fit properly.If you decide this is what you are looking for, be sure to look both items over to make sure you don't need a replacement before it is too late from you purchase in case yours is defective.I probably would have given 3 stars if the description and title didn't indicate it was realistic

My daughter is really into cosplay as well as theatre and has started a modest wig collection. When she saw this wig she had to have it. When unpacking the wig, I could tell it was a quality made wig. It was nicely packaged and even included a wig cap. When putting the wig on, it stayed securely on her head. The hair color looks just as pictured and was striking. The hair was very soft and even looked great out of the bag. I haven't seen a costume wig of this quality at this price point. No "bald" spots could be found and it had a very realistic thickness and fell naturally. It can also be styled in different ways. I highly recommend this wig, and will definitely be looking for other wigs by this brand in the future.
