Product was not new. looked like a return. The box was torn open, and the ice maker itself had no protective packaging around it. I have to use it because I was having a party on the weekend.

As many know, the pricey 'smart fridge' elaborate water in door models often have lousy icemakers that break in the first year; after having my fridge serviced three times I gave up and bought this fabulous Magic Chef counter top version that cranks out ice nonstop and I use it daily. So much so, that I've run through two of them over time...but it holds up well and hasn't disappointed me yet w/maximum nonstop use. It 'whines' when it needs more water like a robot begging for attention, so the renters likely delayed quenching the thirst at one point to burn out the motor...I have had ZERO problem.

Smaller than my airfryer. Does not take up much space on my kitchen counter. Magic Chef makes a good quality products. My previous ice maker is a Magic Chef and it has run 24/7 for the past 10 years. It is a larger version but I was impressed with it continued flawless operation over the years. I just needed to clean the water deposits that built up. This is easy to set up. It was set up and making ice in minutes. I'm very pleased with this appliance so far. Ice cubes are a decent size set on the large setting.

Needed an ice maker that is not to large but also to provide the amount of ice I needed, checked few other options on Amazon and nothing particularly striking, decided an a independent research and found this little machine that was actually on Amazon website, after reading about the features, compared to others, I decided to purchase this unit, was a bit unsettled at first and was eager to receive the machine.The packaging was superb, the machine beautiful to look at and small enough to fit a countertop, next was to reading the manual, pretty straight forward and then...Oh! Lordy was to have this machine live to its expectations, to my amazement, in no time the unit started producing ice!! as I set it to larger size ice.in short, very easy to operated, perform as it says it would, produce beautiful ice in decent time and delighted so far with this purchase, no more buying ice from the store, what a relief this as been.

The ice maker is fine and it works. I would prefer a bit larger bin for the cubes to collect in, but that is a minor issue. It is not very noisy but it does take up a fairly large bit of counter space for the amount of ice it produces. I cannot use it in my kitchen. There is no room for it. I put it in the guest bathroom since we have not had any guests for over year.I bought this because the icemaker in my Samsung refrigerator is a piece of garbage and I had to replace it shortly after the fridge went out of warranty. The replacement maker cost $300 plus installation and failed after six months. I can make enough ice in one day to have ice on hand for 2-3 days. I may need to run it more when summer arrives, but for now this is a good solution for us.

This is my second Magic Chef. I make a lot of ice. Machine in use every day many times. It pays for itself if it will last as long as my first one. Three years.
