After much research I decided on this to help our older dog who can no longer get in the back of our new Tuscon hybrid. Our dogs are in the car every day so this gets a lot of use. The size is just right for our 45 lb. older blue heeler /boarder collie mix. She was resistant to using it at first and seemed to find the whole thing insulting. But now she waits patiently for us to get it out for her to use. It's also big enough for our young 65 lb lab mix to use too, but she still prefers jumping in.I really like the design which allows for easy, one-handed fold and collapse with the straps. The small, collapsed size makes it reasonable to keep in the car all the time. It is very sturdy. But it could be a little steep for some dogs, depending on the height of your rear gate. Our older dog likes it best when we fully extend them to their limit. So make sure you check your car's measurements against this product. Overall, this has made it possible for our whole family to love our new car.

Ok, Let me start this by saying; I REALLY like this product. I have had 2 different versions of these type of pet ramp/stairs over the years, and this by far is the best- HOWEVER- mine at least, had one flaw and I have to deduct a star or it would have gotten 5. Here's why; The very top step of my stairs, the cover/step itself would never properly line up with the frame and I just KNEW it would break & sure enough, it did :( Now. I should have reported this right away, but you know, life. That being said, I think I can figure out a way to "fix" it because it is a REALLY good set of steps. I have an 80lb Rottweiler, she is 7 now and I want to eliminate her jumping in & out of the car. I bought the 6 step version, It's perfect for my 2015 Chevy Tahoe. The ease to fold & unfold is fabulous, and the weight of the unit when folded is not an issue. She took to it easily and I love that it has a safety latch. My other dog group friends were very impressed. I just wished I would have reported the issue with the top step sooner. I will try to reach the mfg. though. But I really would like to have given it 5 starts.

I rarely write reviews, but I'm blown away by these stairs. My 110 pound dog is getting a little older, and needs help getting into my SUV. I've tried other ramps, but she refused to use them, so I decided to try these stairs instead. I got the version that's extra wide. They've been a great success! It only took a day to teach her to use them (and a bag of dried liver treats), and she now comfortably walks up without hesitation. I'm impressed by the quality of the stairs. They have non-slip surface on the steps, and fold out and back very easily. When collapsed they don't take up much space, and they have handles that make them easy to carry. There's a carabiner, that clips onto the car, so they don't slip, and it fits my Mercedes GLS450 perfectly. The build is sturdy, and my big dog is no problem for these stairs. It really seems like a lot of thought has gone into optimizing this product, and the result is great. Highly recommended!

I had a hard time finding ramps or steps that were rated for my dog's weight (he's 115#). He is getting old and his back legs and hips don't work like they used to, so he had a hard time jumping up into my truck. I tried some other non-slip ramps that he still ended up slipping on. The grass on these steps is perfect to prevent slipping. It folds away nice and small and fits right on the floor in front of him in the truck. Easy to open up and close down. My big dog does fine with the standard size, but the wide steps may have been more ideal for him. However, I think the wide size would have been too big for my door frame (2019 Ford ranger), so this is still the ideal size for us. It's nice and sturdy when he uses it, and he is less scared of it than the ramps since he has used stairs before but not ramps.

I bought these steps for my 13 year old Lab who has age-related mobility issues. Arthritis has left her unable to jump or climb obstacles easily, and getting her into the car was a huge challenge. She weighs about 75 pounds, so picking her up is not an option for me. The steps are easy to unfold and lean against the car, and there is a sturdy attachment clip if you want to use it. The steps are lightweight and store easily when not in use. One drawback is that my dog is afraid to use them and needs lots of encouragement, as well as a person on each side of them to make her comfortable enough to climb them. They are also not made of the sturdiest materials, but at the price point, I knew that would be the case. I didn't want to invest a lot of money since my dog is unlikely to live too many more years. :( Because I don't use them every day, they have stayed in good condition. I have used them over 50 times for trips to the vet and traveling long distances. Overall, I recommend these steps to make the job of getting a larger dog into your car much easier on both the dog and you.

We want to take a month long vacation across the USA this Fall. Where we go Sandy dog goes, so we bought a new SUV big enough to handle the whole family. But she couldn't/wouldn't jump into this bigger vehicle. At age 77 I couldn't hoist her 95 lbs into it. We bought a ramp that sounded really "great". Too much bounce, so she would have none of it. Tossed it.Bought these stairs and hoped for the best. At first, she was totally unhelpful. With one person working her front feet and me shoving her rear end, she was eventually deposited into the back of the SUV. A lot of treats took some of the sting out of this procedure. But, she loved the attention and the treats, so afterthree days of this, she practically zips up the stairs. A big problem solved. The stairs are a total success. They fold up into a neat bundle, are light, easy to handle and are very sturdy.

I really like this. But my larger dog used it first day and broke bottom step. He is only 125lbs. This is rated for more but definitely would not let a dog over 100lbs use this! Works great for my older smaller arthritic dog. Seams sturdy where is rests and opens easily.
