Powered via usb. Using 3.5mm analog stereo cable. Loud and clear, great for a simple and quick setup. Don’t expect excellent clarity, but for simple listening, it work well.

I'm sure you will find speakers with better quality but I just needed something louder than my screen and that is exactly what this is. Can easily watch a video in my room with a fan going so it does everything I need it to do.If you want to play loud music you may want to spend a little more but this is a great option for the price.

My only complaint, which to me is pretty substantial, is that at full volume the speakers crackle with any amount of bass. It's very annoying. The sound quality is not very good, but I kind of expected that from an inexpensive speaker. I am considering returning these and maybe upgrading a level.ETA: still have these 1.5 years later. Rarely use them. I was using my iphone doc for my easy listening. I've used recently with my lap top. I play music will I'm cleaning and these have good enough sound for the particular room I'm in. I added a star because I can use them more than I have been and they are decent. I'd value them at $20. I don't know a lot about speakers. I just want something simple, of good value that I can use with my lap top. The speaker size is a benefit. They are a small enough to move around easily.

I purchased these speakers for my computer at work. I am very, very happy with them. They were pretty cheap (under $20) and they work really well. I really like the fact that they are usb powered because I don't want to have another cord plugged into my power strip; both of the cords plug into the back of my computer (one into the usb port, the other into the speaker port). I also like that the volume/power control is located on one of the speakers, so I can easily turn adjust the volume. As far as the quality is concerned, they are Logitech, which is a good brand of speakers in my experience. I've owned a lot of different speakers and all of the Logitech were of good quality and I've been happy with them. I cannot comment on how they sound with the volume turned up loudly as I use them while I'm at work.. and I listen to music fairly quietly as to not disturb my coworkers. The quality for what I use them for is perfect, and I'm pretty certain that if I turned the volume up the quality would be fine. I will update the review regarding this issue as soon as I receive the second set.The only thing I can say that I didn't like about them was that they are a little bigger than I was looking for, but that has nothing to do with the quality of the speakers themselves. I didn't like the smaller speakers that I found, so I decided to go with these even though they were bigger than what I had wanted. I'm glad I did.I liked them so much that I purchased another one for my fiance's laptop that he keeps at his work desk at home. I think they will be perfect for what he needs them for.

I was expected a lot after reading so many glowing reviews, and I have to say, I'm very pleased with what I got. These are very sleek, attractive speakers that fit on my very cluttered desk -- ideal for any college student! Likewise, they'll be wonderful for travel, and they look very sturdy as well. I only wish some sort of case could've came with them. They plug right into my USB and headphone jack; I no longer need to fumble around for an outlet. Given, that means they aren't quite as powerful as speakers that DO need to plug into an external power source, but I don't quite mind because I have headphones if I need to listen to intensive music. These do their job, and do them very well. These are probably the best speakers you can get at this price. The highs, mids, and lows are all very, very impressive. The sound is small because the actual physical speaker is small, but these get plenty loud - loud enough for me.Wonderful job, I hope these last me for years to come!

I bought these not knowing what to expect (people giving them mix reviews). Got these speakers and plugged them in and my first reaction was WOW. The sound that comes out of these is crisp, clear and pretty loud with a faint bass to it. I will so I am no audio expert but I can tell good vs bad sound. For the price this was exactly what I wanted plus more. If your thinking about getting these as your main computer speakers I would think again. These speakers are intended for casual use, like bringing music outdoors, maybe to the game table or an office setting. The speakers are very light which is nice but still kind of big to make them "portable" (not going to be throwing them in a laptop bag). I like how it has a on/off switch built into the volume dial and the fact it has a volume dial. With most low end speakers you rely on your device to control the volume, but having a dial that you can easily tell what level it's set to is a bonus. The only negative or issue you may run into is these run off of USB power. I do not dock points for this because it's clearly listed in the item description so it's not a con. The reason I bring it up is by needing USB power it takes away from being able to be used with mobile devices (IPhone, Droids, some tablets, etc) unless you have a AC to USB adapter or your device has a USB port. Keep in mind you don't need a "computer USB port" just some type of USB port that provides power. I have mine hooked up to my media box that has a USB port intended for a hard drive and it works like a charm.Overall I am very impressed with the sound these little guys pump out and I enjoy listening to music/tv shows through these. For under 20 bucks you can't go wrong. Thinking about buying a second set.
