Being subject to licensing requirement to secure our files these locking bars saved our financial budget. The bars easily mounted to the filing cabinets. One of the bars arrived with a missing slide handle. I contacted the vendor via email provided through Amazon. Although I didn't get a response back the handle was received at my home within 5 days of my email.

Every install for me is a test of my patience and fortitude--not this one. Watched the youtube video instruction and it took me 10 minutes to install. Was considering a new file cabinet with a lock for household stuff--this worked perfectly on my 35 year old metal filing cabinet

materials are good but the design is very easy to tamper and you need to use a big lock to secure it properly

I was a little leery because someone online said it would not fit a 3 drawer lateral file cabinet. But the seller said it would fit. It works great! Yes, you have to drill some holes but overall it took about 15-20 minutes to install. Someone here said locks are for honest people because you could pry this off with a crow bar. But I didn't buy it to keep a million dollars safe out on the lawn. We recently moved and got a new pet sitter so we didn't want her rifling through our bills and pay stubs. If we came home and it was pried off, we could figure out it was her.So why not give it 5 stars? There were no instructions. I had never really used one before so I had no frame of reference. Luckily my wife had them at previous jobs so she showed me how it goes on. That just took a couple minutes.

Bought a replacement lock. Well that sucked. Lock broke and had to return it. This installed in a flash, like 5 mins. and allows you to lock your file. As previous reviews stated the weakness is the lock diameter that the locking bar accepts. However, if you just need to lock and protect stuff to meet requirements of HIPPA etc., this will do. It is just a deterrent.

The drill bit is NOT included. Fifteen minutes online converting 104 size to 3/32. Now to go to Lowes to get a Diamond Head bit - a wood bit will break as I soon found out. One online video installation was great - the others no better than the instructions on the box. Says don't use Pan Head screws but does not tell you why they included screws you should not use and to use self tapping. No profile to help pick which is which.

It was a snap to install and very easy to use. I received it a lot faster than I expected, which was nice. To pass an inspection waiting for this piece. Going to order more

This is the perfect answer. Took just a few minutes to install and now there is a real way to lock up a file cabinet. Reasonably priced. I thought I lost a part and called the seller - they sent the little tab - on their dime and I got it within 2 days. I later found the part in my basement. Good service to boot!Would recommend!

I was in desperate need for a lock to keep my pesky co-workers out of my supplies. I use a Harloff medical cart, and the breakaway locks they make for these are extremely pricey. I was about at the point of wraping a chain around the drawers, but luckily I found this. They not only work on filing cabinets, but are a fantastic inexpensive alternative lock for medical carts too! I suspect that in the right size they would work on just about any type of cabinet or tool box. Great product! A life saver, it's going to save me a lot of money, and hopefully encourage my co-workers to buy their own supplies.
