Exactly what I was looking for. Have an old "sweater knitting machine" I used as a kid. This definitely an upgrade.

Loveeeeee itttt!!! Definitely a learning curve from the old sweater machine I found on fb marketplace. But I’m finally getting the hang of things! The only thing that’s wrong is I didn’t receive any oil or the tweezers that comes with it. That don’t take away from how happy I am to finally have this purchase.

I have had the machine only for about 5-6 weeks and I love it! It is my new hobby. I am a long time hand knitter and I wanted to knit faster and boy does this machine knit faster. I am amazed how fast you can knit a sweater back or front - it's the increasing and decreasing that slows you down. You have to learn to watch the yarn feed as well as the needles because the yarn flies through the machine even when you think you are knitting slower. There are plenty of YouTube videos helping you learn how to use the machine just search for LK 150; I watched quite a few before buying this machine on sale. After buying the machine I joined some FB groups. There are online classes too but I haven't paid for them yet. I did buy some books though and Mid-Gauge Mastery Book & Two DVD Set from DianeKnits. However, I caution you that there is a steep learning curve on the machine and it can be frustrating when something goes wrong. So far I have been able to fix things due to my hand knitting experience with stitches but everything is seen from the wrong side so it's difficult. I did take the stitches off quite a bit with circular knitting needles at the beginning to see how to fix or bind off. I would think if you aren't a hand knitter it would be even more frustrating to try and learn. But I don't want to discourage you because others have tried it without knowing how to knit so you can do it too if you are patient and want to put in the time. And I have gone through a lot of yarn because of waste yarn and pulling out stitches. I tried to reuse some of the yarn and was able to with some difficulty so it's easier to often just toss the yarn. You have to be organized with your swatches and tension. The LK 150 is a lot more versatile than I thought. So far I have been working through my stash of worsted weight yarn because it's cheaper and I have had few problems. I did finish a couple garments in DK weight yarn, which I think is better as a mid range for this machine but the pullover was a little too big and the yarn was soft so I haven't fixed the size differences yet - I could wear the garment but its too big in the shoulder area. The other DK garment I made were some shorts that I have been wearing ever since because they are so comfortable. I made some worsted weight shorts with scrap yarn but I haven't been able to find a good pattern and my designs have not been as comfortable with my pattern but I have been learning stripes and cables with the scraps. The cables were fun to make on my shorts. I did work a little with sport weight and fingering weight. The fingering weight is not recommended for this machine. And fingering weight was tough to get a tight enough gauge, I made a sock but it was one size too big and I quit after trying for the right size several times and having problems with the gauge. I did make slippers in worsted weight first and they were pretty easy but I hand knit socks so I know the construction. The sport weight was easier to work with on the machine compared with the fingering but after the DK pullover I find the smaller stitches are time consuming to seam up a garment and so I got out my sewing machine to fix the bigger size but I haven't reworked the garment because it looks so nice and I'm worried about ruining it. I have tried fair isle which I was interested in but it's been a tough learning curve.Currently, I am working on a worsted weight cardigan. I made two cardigan sleeves with lace and the worsted and they turned out great! I am working on the button band now on the cardigan and the neck ribbing. Like I said you have to want to put in the time because it is different from hand knitting. But I think I'm hooked and will continue to try new things and eventually will move up to a more expensive machine.

I love this knitting machine. It’s great for beginners and experienced knitters. I put off buying a knitting machine for a few years thinking it would be harder than hand or loom knitting but I was wrong.Make sure to read the manual that comes with the machine so you know what your doing. It comes with everything you need to make beautiful sweaters, mittens, beanies, blankets, etc., (except yarn of course). If you were thinking about buying one of those toy circular knitting machines save your money and get yourself a real one, it’s worth the money.I bought extra weights thinking I would need them, I really didn’t to start off with easy patterns. For larger more detailed patterns the extra weights helped. It comes with all of the hand tools you’ll need to hand manipulate stitches to make things like cable knits, you can even do mock ribbing by knitting every other needles so no worry about mock carriages. This knitting machine is great and I’m glad I bought it. My only complaint is that I didn’t buy it sooner. The only thing is if your a beginner read the manual or watch some videos before you start. figure out what your doing before hand. It really is easy to learn and a lot easier and faster than hand knitting, loom knitting, and you won’t get a bunch of dropped stitches (if you use your weights and use the machine right) versus using those toy circular knitting machines.

It took maybe 40hrs and I understood this machine. I’m able to make smaller projects due to the number of needles there are.
