I have a strange obsession with hourglasses, and if you could tour my apartment, you might feel like you were in some sort of I Spy Hourglass Edition book. ( Remember those? )In all my years of hourglass collecting, I had never seen a digital one before, and I just had to add it to my collection! When I pressed the order button, I was under the impression that I would receive a small digital hourglass that simply played a sped up or slowed down animation of the sand falling to match the set time, but what I I wasn't expecting was for the hourglass to be so interactive. Once you set the timer and start it, the digital grains of sand begin to fall and collect in the bottom just as you would expect it to, BUT if you lightly shake the hourglass or simply tilt it to one side or the other, the sand moves! You can shake it around like a snow globe and watch the pixelated sand fly around with surprisingly good realtime physics. So cool! It's basically a fidget toy that can keep track of how much time I waste playing with it.It really is a fun little device, and not only is it fun, but it's seems to be pretty well made as well. The battery lasts a long time, the display is very bright, and it's quite easy to set and use. It's a fun but functional little device, and it makes a fine addition to my collection.

I wanted a new timer for rice and egg boiling, the old fashioned one I had finally bit the dust. Looking around for something unique and I found this oneCharged it up and powered it on. SUPER BRIGHT, can't say that enough. The effect of hourglass is cool and you can turn it on its side even and they move flat. Its really neatNowwwww for the controls, not so easy at first. You have to set the time, then leave it alone for a few seconds thennnnn click the mode again to start. Its a pain but worth it for the effect and its easy to carry on me while I go do other stuffHolds a charge well and I have been using it daily
