Holy cow, what a game changer!! I use this on my service dog in training. As opposed to regular halters, which clip at the front, this one clips to the leash at the back of the dogs head. This may sound minor but it is not. Cervical trauma can result from a dog bolting on a typical halter device and snapping its neck when the head gets jerked backwards. This head gear will not do that. I also appreciate the ease in getting it on the dog. No clasps to use. I have arthritis in my hands. I have used prongs, but they work... sometimes. This one works like a charm and calms my Belgian sheepdog. I will be back for another of these. Yes, it’s a tad expensive, but leather will last you a life time.

LIFE SAVING! I never wrote reviews but this is needed.I was at my whits end with my 90 lb nine month bull mastiff controlling the walks and becoming unmanageable for me, a 105 lb individual, and unsafe.I got a gentle leader, joke! Good luck approaching an excited puppy with a loop around their nose. This loops around the whole head then you make a figure eight under the chin and slip the loop up over the snout. My pup never resisted, had very very minimal running on the first few walks and is so happy in walks now as am I because this harness allows us to communicate safely and effectively with each other.Thank you!! And it's super cute!!

Unfortunately this did not work for my dog. It was not easy to figure out how to get on and she got it off in 30 seconds.

There's nothing to dislike about this head halter. It takes a little getting used to as far as putting it on smoothly, but fortunately my Zeke is very patient when he knows we're going out. It has definitely allowed me to have better control over his very strong and excitable self when we see other dogs, rabbits, ducks, etc. I think what I like best is the safety feature. I've always worried he would get so excited he would break out of the Gentle Leader and be gone - and actually get a little dog - but now I feel confident since he's still attached to his harness by the safety clip. I'm glad I came across this product. I got a large and probably needed a medium since there's about a foot of extra leather left from his neck to where the lead clips on.

This is a savior for our very smart, very strong, very persistent Belgian Malenois. It is a a great way to communicate to her what I would like her to do when we are walking. It is much more secure than other over the snout leads I have tried and I really like the secondary connection to her collar...just in case.

I tried the Gentle Leader and Haltie before the Perfect Pace Halter. I had tried the other halters for a few months and have been using the Perfect Pace halter for about 6 months. My trainer let me try it on my Belgian Malinois and I loved it. I purchased the leather version and it works great. The leather softened up perfectly and I much prefer this over the other two. I like the leather for Bella since it is what we use daily for our walks and I find it more attractive than the other brands and it works better for her. I highly recommend Perfect Pace Halter for anyone who is looking for a more pleasant walk for both dog and human.

This is my go-to working collar for my service dog. I had one of the original designed ones for six or seven years and it was magnificent. The leather softened up so nicely. My SD knew immediately when that collar went on we were working. Then the "silly human" part of the team was hurrying trying to do too many things at once and had the collar in her hand and didn't notice it slip out as I was changing positions from backseat to driver seat in the car!This one is the replacement for that. The design is a tiny bit different, which is okay. I'm hoping the minor design change has addressed the one thing which frustrated me about my old one. I can honestly say, if not for dropping & losing the old one, I'd still be using it.Bold Leads makes an outstanding product that's built to last for the long-term. The staff is beyond pleasant and helpful. If you're a service dog team, their harnesses are the best, hands down, in terms of quality, weight, and for the physical health of your partner. Katrina takes everything into consideration as she makes each piece of equipment from her harnesses, leashes, and yes, even the Perfect Pace Halter.
