I didn’t buy this for a lab, I use it at home to sterilize the small metal tools I use when depotting face creams into smaller jars or scraping down the last of a lipstick tube. It works better than I expected. This unit heats up to over 800°C and reaches sterilizing temperature in 10 minutes. Once it’s hot, I just place my spatulas, scoopers, or tweezers inside the chamber for a few seconds and they come out sterilized, no flame, no alcohol, and no boiling water. It feels way more sanitary and convenient for handling beauty products that touch my face, lips, and eyes.It has a Aerospace-Grade Durability 99.9% pure alumina ceramic heating core and I like that it’s enclosed, much safer than trying to wave tools over an open flame. It’s compact and doesn't take up much space on my counter, and the dual temperature option is nice depending on how delicate or heavy the tool is.Here’s what makes it perfect for my setup:I can clean my beauty utensils quickly and efficiently. The high temperature ensures tools are properly sterile before coming into contact with my creams, lotions, and lips. The enclosed, flame-free design keeps things safe and odor-free, even near delicate products or surfaces. If you're into depotting, decanting, or just like to prep beauty tools with real sterilization power, not just wipes, this shifts the game. It’s technically lab equipment, but it works beautifully at home.

This review is for the "Lab Infrared Sterilizer with 14/35mm Loop - 400°C/825°C Dual Temp, 150W/240W, Fast Sterilization for Scalpel, Needle & Lab Instruments - CE Certified, for Biology, Mycology & Clinical Labs (ds900)."You'll see this particular sterilizer and others like it used in mycology often and will appear in videos as well. It does the job of sterilizing any metal object that fits inside the small diameter entrance. If left in too long, the metal it's sterilizing will begin to break down, so keep that in mind. You only need 30 seconds or so for it to sterilize. Injection needles are especially vulnerable to over sterilizing causing damage. It takes a couple of minutes for it to heat up and begin glowing, so be patient. Once it glows, you're good to begin. The sterilizer is moderately well made. The reason I respect it is because it evenly sterilizes 360° and all the way down the shaft for long tools I use to manipulate cultures. There are a couple different models so be sure to pick the one that suits you best. I've been using one just like this for two years without trouble so when I saw this one I ordered it for another lab bench so I wouldn'thave to move my old one around. I pretty much trust it won't catch my lab on fire. Even so, I don't leave it unattended when on. A smart thing to do is plug it in to a timer and set it for a duration just beyond your work time window so it just shuts off if you forget about it. Distractions happen, so be safe as this thing gets really hot inside and will burn just about anything you put in it.I have no negative issues, nor any caveats to report. The sterilizer just works well and appears to be a trustworthy product in a lab setting. Worthy of recommendation imho.
