Well engineered, fit and finish. It is louder than the stock air intake by quite a bit. I would have gave it 5 stars if it had been a $100 less. I would buy it again, I just would have shopped around for a better price.

After doing a tune-up and making several repairs and upgrades my little pickup truck with the 4-banger has never ran better, and this cold air intake was a huge part of that. Really lets that thing purr, and the acceleration and responsiveness is waaaay better than the old filter/hood/intake system that I was grateful to be able to remove and replace with this. This is the best CAI out there, imo. Fairly straightforward to install, and well worth the investment!!

Had to trim shroud on it just to get the push pins to engage to hold in place on radiator.

I went from the original airbox to a cheap aftermarket to this one. Original airbox was horrible it had so many points of failures; all the rubber and plastic gave way to time by cracking and braking and I had to replace it. Cheap intake would hit my ac compressor clutch and finally ended up damaging it. I bought this k&n only for the ac bridge but i am amazed at how good it works. Sounds much better, the fit is great, it DOES have more power at the low end; as well as better throttle response. Good job K&N!!!

Got this for my 2003 Chevrolet S10 2.2L 4X2.I was looking for better gas milage and horsepower, living 2,000 ft. above the valley floor it didn't like 3rd gear climbing the hill. Now that i've got this in combination with a Magnaflow muffler, I can cruise up the hill in 3rd gear much easier. Not to mention the truck sounds great in the higher RPM range. Like I said, always happy with K&N products.

I HAVE A 4 CYLINDER, 5 SPEED CHEVY S10. HOPING TO INCREASE POWER , I BOUGHT THIS K&N COLD AIR INTAKE. FOR SOMEONE WITH MODERATE ABILITY, INSTALLATION WAS O.K. THERE WAS MORE INVOLVED IN REMOVING THE FACTORY INTAKE EQUIPMENT THAN INSTALLING THE NEW INTAKE. WHEN YOU REMOVE THE OLD STUFF WITH ALL OF THE CHAMBERS AND BOXES THE AIR HAS TO PASS THROUGH IT IS EASY TO SEE WHY THE K&N WITH ITS VERY DIRECT INTAKE APPARATUS WOULD PROVIDE BETTER PERFORMANCE AND ECONOMY. I AM GETTING A MILE TO 2 MILES PER GALLON BETTER ECONOMY AND THE INCREASE IN PERFORMANCE IS NOTICEABLE ESPECIALLY AT THE TOP END OF EACH SHIFT. THE PLEASANT "GROWL" DURING EACH SHIFT IS ALSO COOL. ALSO, YOU ARE ADVISED TO LISTEN FOR HISSES OR BUZZES COMING FROM THE INTAKE BUT I HAD NO ISSUES WITH THIS. I FIND THIS INTAKE TO BE AN INEXPENSIVE, EASY WAY TO INCREASE PERFORMANCE AND ECONOMY.

I had this installed in my 1999 Chevy S-10 LS Extended Cab 2.2L 4cyl Automatic 2wd , I originally bought it to increase my fuel economy buy take note while K&N intakes systems do increase mileage on other vehicles the S-10 is not one of them. The best HWY mpg I ever got was 22mpg. I have seen similar results for the S-10 and once saw that the s-10 is the only car or truck that a k&n actually decreased the mpgs on with a cold air intake system.That being said I was still very happy with this product as far as I'm concerned the s-10 is a very underpowered vehicle and I often felt like I was unable to pass when I needed to on the highway. Once I installed this it was a day and night difference the torque and throttle response were much improved as well as the HP. It also had a nice sound to it. I actually liked my little truck more just because of this thing!

Service is always 5 of 5 stars.Upgrading the air intake on any vehicle is an option that many people will never consider, however, for those who strive to obtain better performance, reliability and economic gains, it is a great first step towards those goals.When considering aftermarket air intakes, particularly for my Chevy S10, there were several manufacturers to choose from. I chose K&N over AEM, AIRAID, Volant, and Spectre to meet California's strict emissions standards, because of its price point, washable filters, looks and horsepower gain claims from other customers and competitive aftermarket sales specialists.Although I don't consider myself a professional under the hood of my vehicles by any means, removal of my stock S10 air intake was simple and well documented in step by step photos with captions.Even easier was the installation of the K&N intake and heat shroud.There is a discernible sound difference from the stock intake and the K&N intake. The K&N has a louder, throaty sound at high RPM's and is silky smooth and calm at idle and lower RPM's.I highly recommend and urge anyone considering an upgraded air intake to use K&N for all their vehicles.Overall, I couldn't be happier with my purchase and install.
