This is a great product! Got a similar product years ago and lost part of it so I was absolutely thrilled when I saw that Amazon carried this product. My husband has large hands and is very strong and this has opened jars that he couldn't budge. Give you great leverage.

It takes a few tries to get the hang of it, but then it just works, quickly and easily. I've used it on everything from narrow kombucha bottles to wide-mouth jars, plastic or metal. The device has to be placed precisely on the widest part of the lid, and the adjustable lever must be in the groove that is closest to the lid edge without going outside the edge. That gives you just a small angle to squeeze. Hold flat and squeeze hard, turn counter-clockwise, and the lid should immediately break its seal and turn.

Flimsy . . . difficult to get it to grasp.

A simple and practical design.I purchased this for my neighbor who is (apologies for comment) the classic little old lady, with a little loss of logical and practical function to add to loss of physical strength. (She still rides a 2 wheel electric bike at 81 y/o)She 'aced' this one, having struggled with a couple of others . . . (one of mine, and another from Amazon).I tried it before passing it over, and found it easy to adjust to a lid, and as easy as it's going to be, to open the jar. (Some lids are tough!)

We had one of these jar openers growing up and was taught how to use it. My sister got the original opener when my parents passed away and I was envious so when I found it on Amazon I was excited to finally have one of my own. It can be a little tricky, you first have to hit the side of the jar lid with the side of it to help break the seal and then place it on the lid so that the jar opener looks like a “y” on the lid and then turn and the lid just pops off. Don’t have the 2 metal pieces flat against each other because it won’t work. Like I said there’s a learning curve to it.

I was looking for an opener because my 79-year-old hands had grown weak. Looking thru the different jar openers, I was disappointed because they all said “good for lids up to 3.5 inches in diameter”, and I was wanting one for a large pickle jar with a lid of 4 inches. But one of them had a little parenthetical note saying (“click here for our opener that opens larger lids.”) I clicked and this puppy came up. It was cheaper than all the others, but it looked so primitive compared to the others I didn’t want to buy it. But I wanted that pickle jar opened, so I gave it a shot.I’m really glad I did because it works great! The first try slipped off the lid. But on every try since, the lids just float off the jar almost effortlessly. Big lids, small ones, and in between ones, this opener does the job. You might have to practice a bit at first, but it definitely is a winner. Highly recommended.

When this product works, it works great. But when it doesn't work, it is useless. It is two pieces of metal but the issue is when you try to clamp them around the jar lid. The bent part of the metal to act as a hinge between these two pieces is too short, so the top portion just slides out and closes down onto the bottom part. And if your finger is in the wrong place, you've now pinched part of your finger right in between the two pieces as they slam together.Out of all the times I've used this, it was always a struggle to get it working. It isn't that hard, lay the bottom part on top of the lid. Slide the top part so that the lid is pinched in between the two. Hope and pray that the top part is now hinged into one of the notches of the bottom. Pray to whatever deity you believe in that the hinge connection is good enough that you can squeeze the two together so that you get a tight grip. Sell your soul to whatever deity that answers that grip stays as you twist to open. If at any point you aren't lucky, the two pieces will slam together as you need to have a tight grip to force it to stay connected and open the lid.If this works for you, great. But it barely worked for me. Stay away from this thing is my recommendation.

This product took such a long time to be delivered I had forgotten I had ordered it. But that's ok because I have used it several times and it is making my life easier. It's good quality stainless steel and I don't have to use a lot of pressure to make it work. So far it has helped me open jars and bottles with having to use a lot of pressure. Easy to use and great simple design.

I was initially sceptical of whether this would work but it's actually brilliant. Much smaller than I thought it would be, it fits nicely in a drawer. It's lightweight and sleek. Opens jars very easily. 10/10 recommend.

This is a good little device but I wish it had better instructions. You do have to be careful not to tighten the grasping edges on to the jar lid edges since it may bend the metal and contrary to what you would think looking at it, you don't necessarily have to put the locking lever all the way down. I think it actually says that in the instructions. Otherwise, it works fine though you may get scratches on the lid. I didn't rate it for durability because I've only used it twice since I bought it. IMO, that's not enough to know how durable it is especially with that locking lever I mentioned earlier.

Ce ouvre-bocal ouvre très bien les bocaux de différentes tailles mais il écrase le couvercle. Ne pas l'utiliser si on ouvre plusieurs fois un bocal.Je ne vous conseille pas ce produit.
