Performacide Mold & Mildew Elimination is a Fungicide, Disinfectant, Sanitizer, Tuberculocide, Virucide, Algaecide, Slimicide and Deodorizer. As a fungicide Performacide kills odor causing bacteria mold & mildew caused by flooding, water leaks, storm damage and excess moisture. Performacide kills MRSA, Staphylococcus aureus, Listeria, Trichophyton mentagrophytes (athletes foot), Enterococcus faecalis, Salmonella, TB. As a Virucide, Performacide kills HIV-1, Hepatitis A, Herpes Simplex-2, Rhinovirus, Influenza-A, Coronavirus, Norovirus, Poliovirus*, Adenovirus, Rhinovirus, Canine Parvovirus, feline calicivirus and Vaccinia virus. Performacide uses a pre-measured pouch that when immersed in the corresponding amount of water creates a 100 ppm chlorine dioxide solution. Allow the pouch 60 minutes to reach full activation and the 100 ppm ClO2 solution lasts 15 days when stored in an oxidation-proof, dark closed or sealed container in a cool dark location. Using EPA label directions, Performacide can be diluted to 20 ppm for use as a sanitizer on non-food contact surfaces and 5 ppm for use as a sanitizer on food contact surfaces. For disinfecting, wet the area to be treated with a mop sponge, or pressurized tank sprayer and allow to air dry. This product can be applied to walls, floors, furniture, stainless steel, glass, vinyl, or other hard non-porous surfaces. For sanitizing hard non-porous, food contact surfaces dilute to 5 ppm and allow 5 minutes of exposure time. For sanitizing hard non-porous, non-food contact surfaces dilute solution to 20 ppm and allow 5 minutes of exposure time. Please see inner label instructions for dilution tables and ratios. To test activated solutions after storage or dilution use chlorine dioxide test strips for concentrations with a range of 0 ppm up to 500 ppm.

The scent smells like urine!!! It’s actually the color of urine as well. I don’t know if it kills what it says it kills. I was hoping for a better scent though. I’d take ammonia scent any day over this... jk but really the smell isn’t pleasant

The product has warning label that states it does irreversible harm to eyes and burns to skin. I would never have ordered this if the product was clearly marked. Amazon will not accept returns of this item because it is so dangerous. Now I am stuck with toxic product that I cannot get rid of safely. VERY UPSETTINGNegative stars

I'm not sure if people aren't reading the directions or if it's just not clear, but this stuff does not remove mold and mildew stains. It kills bacteria and fungus, but it's not a stain remover. The other product they sell is the stain remover. That's a sodium hypochlorite product which is basically the same stuff you get in Tilex or any other household stain remover product. You use that first to remove the stains and then you use this to kill anything that is left on the surface. This product comes with a spray bottle and a powder mix. You add the powder mix to the bottle and add water and then it has to sit for an hour or so before it is ready to use. I noticed no issues with spraying from the bottle. The advantage to this product over products that contain sodium hypochlorite (bleach and most mildew stain remover sprays such as the one these guys sell or Tilex) is that chlorine dioxide is more effective at lower concentrations in water as it does not hydrolize (break down) as easily as sodium hypochlorite. It also doesn't react with other organic compounds in the same way as those products. The reaction of sodium hypochlorite with other organic and inorganic compounds can in some cases produce toxic byproducts and at the same time limit the effectiveness of the product. This means that in general you're going to use less of this stuff to kill bacteria than you would a typical bleach product and you're likely going to generate fewer toxic byproducts. The disadvantage is that chlorine dioxide in water isn't particularly stable over time and it also tends to break down when exposed to light and heat. It also can be very dangerous in higher concentrations, but that's not really an issue with the solution produced here as it results in only a .01% chlorine dioxide mixture. The main thing is that if you really want to make sure you killed every last bit of bio sludge in the area then you start with the stain remover products and then finish with this stuff. As a general rule if you're using this product and/or a bleach product I would wear gloves and a filter mask (not the paper ones) at the least so that you do not breathe any of the gases generated or make skin contact with any of the product. Since I was removing mildew in a bathroom space I bought the following items to do the work.I'll be the first to admit that I've used bleach and other chemical products without this sort of protection in the past (attempting to ventilate the area by opening a window or with fans etc) and it's much worse to do the work without them than with them. Without them you just can't avoid breathing stuff in as you're cleaning the area. With them on you can make sure to cover all areas completely as well as scrub away any leftover stains (again though, this is not the stain remover product, I used this after I used the other product). I don't think I will ever clean any substantial area using these types of products again without this sort of protection. As an FYI any of these types of products have MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) publicly available that detail the ingredients in the product and how they should be handled. This lets you know what the product actually is and also how to handle it.

I used this for a week on mildew in my shower. No improvement. Then I filled the spray bottle with bleach ($4/gallon) and sprayed the shower with that. The mildew was gone the next day! So unless, you want to pay $20 for a $2 spray bottle, buy some bleach, and a $2 spray bottle.
