These training projectiles are well constructed and have roughly the same thick outer shell as their pepper-filled counterparts, so they break and drop at the same distances making them better for training than using the solid nylon projectiles if your intent is to use the pepper-powder projectiles as a non-lethal self-defense option.That said, if you're debating between getting a .50 vs. .68 cal launcher, be aware that while it sounds like a large caliber, .50 is actually pretty small and doesn't contain a ton of powder (or paint for that matter). So if you're on the fence, my recommendation of go bigger. I have both and prefer the .68 for delivery of a legit powder cloud on a target.But if .50 is your intended caliber then these are a solid choice for practice.
