connector comes all apart for easy assembly. The input tube is designed for 18ga cable, but you can leave that tube out and the inner clamp will take 16ga cable

Poor quality construction. The center machine bolt & nut work fine to hold the halves together, but the 2 additional screws are apparently for a strain-relief, which was missing. The internal terminals are too small for even medium duty conductors. One must be very careful to ensure the conductors do not short during assembly.

This is a nice connector. It is designed for an 8mm cord. However, if you remove the stress relief insert, you can fit a 10mm cord.

This plug is poorly designed and therefore very cumbersome to install wires compared to a Hubbell or other quality connectors.

I bought this end to make a splitter for my “the fog machine” brand fog machine so I can run two machines off one controller. Worked perfect for my setup.

Here are the problems with this connector:- It is manufactured from very cheap, thin, and very easy to crack/shatter plastic. When held in my hands, I can easily deform the thin plastic shell by simply squeezing it. The connector would easily allow moisture to enter. Inexpensive, over-the counter IEC cables with molded ends are much stronger and safer.- The strain relief boot is too narrow of a diameter to accommodate many standard 14/3 cables. Not sure why. I thought this was a reasonable spec for most single-device connectors.- The connector is held together by only one flathead screw. Said screw runs through the middle of the connector, forcing a pretty major bend between the strain relief and the ground terminal. Also, since the connector is held together by just one screw, as stated before, there is play in the connector. I.E. it is relatively easy to deform the connector. In conclusion, you are much better off purchasing an over-the-counter molded IEC cable than building one using this connector. I would highly dissuade anyone from using these in a situation where they will be moved, repeatedly plugged/unplugged, or used with devices that could potentially draw more than a couple of amps. To do so would be unnecessarily dangerous.
